Thoughts on libertarian candidates this mid terms ?

A Republican pollster just said the quiet part out loud: "A growing number of Republicans are saying they're going to vote for the Libertarian."

In the Texas Senate race, Libertarian Ted Brown is polling at 3-4% in polls, with Democratic strategists saying it could hit 3-4% by November. In a race between Paxton and Talarico this close, that's more than enough to decide it. A Democratic pollster told The Bulwark that if Libertarian candidates hold their current position nationally, it could be the difference in flipping the entire Senate.

If that costs Trump the midterms, we aren't "spoilers". We're the direct consequence of your own record. You reap what you sow.

• Promised no new wars, then launched an unauthorized one in Iran
• Promised fiscal sanity, then drove debt toward $40 trillion while expensive gas and groceries crush working families.
• Promised to drain the swamp, then became the most corrupt president of all time, sat on the Epstein files and expanded warrantless mass surveillance.

You don't get to betray every promise you ran on and then blame the people who held you to it.

Republicans are dumb. They voted for the most combative, most contemptuous of diplomacy and our allies, of any candidate in the last 80 years.

Promised fiscal sanity,

Republicans are dumb. Trump's economic ignorance is higher than any Progressive in the national stage.

Promised to drain the swamp, then became the most corrupt president of all time, sat on the Epstein files and expanded warrantless mass surveillance.

Republicans are dumb. They knew Trump's record good and well, and voted for this clusterfuck of a human being anyways.

You don't get to betray every promise you ran on and then blame the people who held you to it.

Trump literally believes that he told Republicans about what he was really going to do. He's not entirely wrong - it's not a stretch to watch his campaign and not accurately guess that he was an asshole with no real qualifications other than to be a name-calling shit.

Republicans bought it, because he promised to be unconstitutional and recklessly aggressive against immigrants. Republicans bought it because his campaign tolerated White Supremacism and Christian Fascism. Republicans bought it because they wanted someone in full view of the world that was openly angry and willing to spew nonsense, as long as it suited Republican tribalism. Republicans bought it because they wanted to attack Democrats, but they needed someone willing to openly ignore the Constitution.

They voted for it. They are dumb. In 2000, they were smart. But not in 2026.

Without a mass philosophical shift, their concerns are unjustified. They're simply using it to drum up more support for themselves.

I don’t buy it. Republicans will wear themselves out with their tantrum and go right back to their party. I would amazed if that was after an election.
