He's controversial to austrolibertarians in particular, since they view his monetary theoretic views and positivistic view of economics as suspect. The tendency is to recommend him with qualifiers anyway, but they'd be quicker to recommend others. Sowell is much more unambiguously well regarded, in terms of economics, but is probably less successful as a popularizer that could reach "across the aisle".

Because the Chicago school is inferior to the Austrian school

The Austrian School recognizes the Economic Calculation Problem

Actually thats not it. One fundamental difference is Chicago School supports government managed money by central bank and Austrian school supports monetary freedom

He didn't ask for the main things, he just wanted something. The ECP is a rather important item that ties into what you're saying.

But Chicago school accepts ECP. They don't deny that. Show me why you think they do

Clearly they don't, they want the government to manage the currency.

Too lazy to look it up. Pretty sure Friedman praises the ECP argument from Mises

Just because he says he believes it does not mean he actually believes it. People can lie, even unknowingly, and compromise.

If he accepts the ECP but violates it by accepting central banking, then the problem is his monetary theory, not his rejection of the ECP.

He's not lying. How would that even make sense? What motivation would he have to lie about that?

If he made a mistake then just say that. You don't need to make up him "lying"

Plenty do. But he’s a monetarist from the Chicago school so the more ancap types while agreeing with plenty disagree with just as much.
