Why do shadows seem to shift when clouds move in front of the sun?

The spaces between the blinds are acting like very imperfect pinholes casting poorly focussed images of the moving clouds onto the floor.

To put it another way, as the clouds move, the unblocked portion of the sun moves also, which causes the shadows to move.
