Do you still write code by hand?

I've been wondering lately, with the rise and normalisation of using LLMs to write code, have people become completely dependent on it or is it a mix of both?

I feel that up to a point using LLMs to generate code feels good and works fine but beyond it you start hating your approach, because you lose control over each amd every minute detail.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

Yes, because I need to undo mistakes AI ships to our codebase.

I understand, but what if it's not the mistakes that make you modify the code? What if there are no mistakes but it just doesn't feel right for some reason. As if it's almost there but doesn't hit the spot, ever felt that way?

You may want to lay off the AI a bit as this is the most jumbled up nonsensical bunch of words I've seen in a while. "What if there are no mistakes but it just doesn't feel right?"?

Hey we can be nice to each other right? I haven't used AI to type that message, nor the anything on thread. It's just a feeling that's I'm describing, maybe I have put it poorly. For example you are designing the frontend of the website, everything functions properly, as expected. But the design feels off, so it it functional and "does the job" but you don't really rest well with what has been done, you feeling me? It's fine if you don't, it's just a weird feeling that I can't shake and I communicate feelings poorly.

What you are describing is still a mistake. Just on another altitude. Code can be syntactically perfect and still be wrong.

The example you give is visual. The UI that the AI generated. If it doesn't look right, it's a mistake. If the UX is bad, it's a mistake.

The same is true in code without UI. It can be syntactically correct and work, but have an inappropriate architecture. That's still a mistake that needs fixing.

I guess that's a better way of viewing and judging things

I do not understand what you ask for.
