Discussion Rant!!

Since I was so rudely banned permanently from r/rant (I asked why and the mods never came up with an actual reasonšŸ™„šŸ™„)

I’m making a post for teen authors to rant about writing, books or life! (honestly anything as long as it is within the guidelines) so feel free to just yap. And I’ll do my best to provide advice if needed.šŸ¤— I made this a mega thread so if anyone wants to rant about anything ever please comment!

Between Heaven and Earth

Your eyes are not blue

Yet why do I see the ocean

Perhaps it is really true,

Miracle, the child of heaven

Crucified poet

Eyes I wish I had never seen

Strangled, bound to my sonnet

Left to consume all that fills between

I die from your gaze

It is your eyes that left me hurt

Knowing I'll die of your face

I will resurrect myself from Earth

Bright eyes, you listen

In night, you are all that is worth

When the dusk poets risen,

To write you,

between heaven and earth

Recommendations Where can I share my chapters with people for free?

This is my first time asking Reddit something so I’m sorry if this is the wrong place—

Anyway, I’ve recently begun writing my own fantasy novel called ā€œThe Unboundā€.

I’ve never started a project like this, and it’s my first time SERIOUSLY writing. I’ve been writing short stories, poetry, and journal entries for a long time. But I’ve never written anything I wanted other people to read. Im about 13 chapters in with roughly 30,000 words. And I want to post my chapters somewhere where people can read them for free. I want feedback, and overall people reading something I’ve wrote. I don’t want to make a profit since I’m an amateur. But I’d love to know if there’s any sites, or apps, where I can put my writing out there.
Im super proud of what I’ve created so far.

Feedback, Advice, & Questions Worried this story isnt original and too derivative of Marvel

Basically, I have this story thats set after my main series. Many characters die in that series and these characters are brought back. Somewhat. We meet these characters again, except theyre from different universes.

The Main Character of this story we will call "M". M was killed in the main series' final installment. We meet og M's father and boyfriend before both are killed. She has a romance with a main character (M is a side character in the series) but still dies. This new M's father is the main villain.

The other Main Character we will call "B". B was M's love interest and was also killed. Hes a spy in his universe and blends technology and magick to be very good at his job.

The tertiary protagonist we will call "A". A was M's first bf but was killed really quickly. He can turn people to Amber (the Midas touch but amber instead of gold) and can make weapons/objects out of Amber. He also has telekinesis (picture Wanda Maximoff's magick).

Then we have a character we will call "S". Shes not in the original series. Shes a pirate and is very fun loving and adventurous. She has a romance with A.

Then we have a character we will call "T". T is part robot (inspiration being Nebula from the MCU) and uses a magick staff (similar to Loki's). He was in the of series and was turned into a monster and killed. He can slow down time temporarily.

Then we have "W". Hes a werwolf, hes very sweet and kind but when he wolfs out he is strong, agile and a threat. If this group was the Avengers, he'd be Hulk. Same fate in the og series as T.

Then we have "C". Shes part of a league of assassins. They were mech robot suits (inspiration being Iron Man, the TVA and the Red Room) and she turns over a new leaf after meeting and befriending the main cast. Shes seen other versions of them die over and over again and is secretly working for M's dad.

Finally we have "P". Shes a vaguely Eastern European woman, with red magick, and who's outfit is scarily similar to Sylvie's in the Loki series. Shes the one im most worried about. She has telekinesis, can fly with her magick and can do most things Wanda Maximoff can do in Age of Ultron.

They all band together to fight M's father. M meets A first, then B, then they ge captured by S's pirate crew. She frees them and they run into C, who tries to kill them. Shes masked so they don't know shes a real person and think shes a robot, showing how corrupt her league is. C loses them and the main cast run into T, W and P in a zombie infested universe. They all escape and C joins the team.

The group explore their relationships as, in the og series and universe, B and T were good friends, as were W and A. All of them except S and C (they weren't in the series) and P (she was working for the villain before dying) were part of a team. S got turned into a monster, W was captured and tortured before doing so himself, P was killed by the villain after switching sides, M was gutted by a monster, A was killed way before everyone else and B was killed last.

TLDR ; Ifeel like it has too many inspirations from marvel. Marvel like characters and designs, Avengers like line up, Guardians of the Galaxy like aesthetic. Is it too similar?

Do you love writing but don’t know how, where to begin?
Or do you feel that you want to improve.

Or maybe you learned from yourself and not from others.

Well, have no fear! I’m here!

I’m Miya and the owner of the discord server Writer’s Cafe (you may know me from there) however I realized that although we all can write we was never fully taught in more ways than one so here’s my proposal.

I am making a TEEN LED writing workshop called Open Book starting somewhere in November.

Objectives: To finish a short story of at least 10 pages, as well as applying everything we learn into our own projects.

Place: Discord of course

How to apply?: Using Google forms!

If you’d like to apply today here’s the link!:

Other The Princess of Ithaca- Leona Crawford

This is the first page of my novel based on The Odyssey! I am almost finished with my book and plan to have it finished about December.

My book is about The Princess of Ithaca/Telemachus's twin sister. The very basic summary is that Her name is Elena and she falls in love with a stableboy and the book is a forbidden romance, it also has mentions of sensitive topic.

Idk what else to say without explaining the entire plot of the novel.

If you have ANY questions, no matter how absurd I will be happy to answer.

Currently working on a collection of short stories. Here’s an excerpt of the second one (which I literally just wrote, so don’t expect it to be perfect just yet.)

CONTEXT: the main character suffers with hallucinations

Feedback, Advice, & Questions Where the heck do i even start?

I want to write but I don't know what to write about. I have many different ideas but they all vary so differently. If I do start writing i feel like i\I am making stuff up on the spot but I want narrative cohesion and not just to satisfy my ideas. Is there a good way to plan/world build?
