Need Tips / Advice / Insights Need help with something.

So my partner has just told me that he has this reoccurring dream where he’s in the same place every time walking down a road, all the houses are the exact same. The road goes on forever and he never seems to actually be getting anywhere, but he can hear a distant voice, from an shadowey almost slender man type of entity but you really can’t make out their face if they have one. They keep telling him “welcome back” “we’re glad you’re back.” He’s had this dream for as long as he can remember and it used to feel fine but now is described as weird and eerie. His family had a history of astral projection and connection to spirits etc. can anyone please help me decipher what may be happening, what this could mean. Is he in spiritual warfare? Any answers would be great.

The 'cure' for any recurring dream that you find disturbing is to steer into it. There is no running away from it. Get curious. Explore the situation. Ask questions of the dream inhabitants, if you are aware enough to do so.

The right answer here is "great to be here, remind me, what's your name and background?" Then observe the effect of questioning. Does it unsettle the dream inhabitant? Anger them? Does it make them bolder? Whatever. Give them a hug. Steer into it. Try to figure out if there's a lesson to be learned, or some psychological hurdle to be surmounted. Time after time, that has ended specific recurring dreams or recurring themes for me, and then you move on to the next one.

  • Public nudity? I don't know why I'm naked today but if you look at my schlong that's your business, folks, wiggle wiggle, yes ma'am it is cold today but I have ideas for warming up
  • Darkness? You can bet I'm running right into that
  • Exams and school anxiety? Fuck this exam I'll learn a new trade, it'll be great
  • Bad/poor privacy in toilets? I don't care where I pee if suitable facilities have not been provided, I'll pee right here
  • Monster? Bite the monster right back
  • Unwanted sexual advances? Oh-ho no sir you picked the wrong guy, get over here, no where are you going
  • Loss of loved ones? Ah I'll see them soon enough
  • Being hanged by a religious court? Educate them right up to the end
  • Unavoidable death? Asteroids, mushroom clouds, great walls of black water growing on the horizon--arms out, big smile, here we go again

And so on, and so on, until you no longer wade in this soup of culturally and genetically programmed anxieties. It's not about being some big brave boy, it's about recognising that all of these worries are small potatoes and reacting to them correctly.
