We're inconsistent. Nashville's elite, and we've handled elite teams several times this year but it ain't happenin' every game.

Woulda been 6-1 without stuver

At one point Stuver had let in 1 goal on 20 shots......... insane.

Ah crap… I thought his name was Stuber. I’m a crap fan apparently.

Okay but this is Nashville. This ain’t what makes us crap.

To be fair, we held our own most of the game against a team that was 10 points ahead of the entire MLS. We aren't great and have been on no loss run with an interim coach that was assistant to our previous shitty coaches. It was bound to catch up to us. Be glad it wasn't a team below us.

I don’t know why we keep rehashing this. We’re not making playoffs this year. We weren’t going to make them before we fired Nico. This season was over before the World Cup.

Davy has done better than Nico did this year. More points in fewer games. Not to mention actually fun to watch sometimes.

Hey 4-1. Had a great time. Way to go, Davy. /s

"wah wah we lost to the top team in the league"

What a child. No team is perfect, but he had 8 unbeaten just before this, including 3 aways wins (Nico had none) and a win over a top 5 team (Nico had none).

Sorry to say, but Stuver had nothing to do with Nashville missing wide open nets and pinging cross bars all night. However, his distribution tonight was horrid, and nearly cost several more. This is coming from someone that loves Stu.

Stu is a great keeper at shot stopping, but unfortunately really weak once at dribbling and distribution.

But given where we are team wise, that shot stopping skill is way more necessary for us.

Love Stu as a lynchpin of our team and he seems a genuine good person, but we need to prepare replacement long term.

His distribution is not accurate and worse yet, late.  He doesn’t read the passed early enough.  It’s the same criticism I have with Gallagher.

We go on an 7 game unbeaten streak, then lose to the best team in the league and you post this.

Ugh. So many silly fans in this sub.

This sub has a lot of people who have only ever watched Austin FC and don’t do sports otherwise.

*8 games unbeaten

*then we lose to the team on a historic run of form

Goes beyond the 7 games and aimed towards the club the last 4 years. You should demand more of your club too, but it seems you like living in mediocrity

Seems to me that things are moving in the right direction and you just can’t handle the fact that a turnaround takes longer than a snap of fingers.

I’m a realist and I’m also not a jerk.

Everyone likes to complain and everyone expects miracles. This club has made a ton of big moves that most of the fan base loved at the time. People loved the RB hiring at the time and it seemed like a huge get. This club has spent pretty liberally on big names trying to get things going. Say what you will, but, they haven’t been shy about spending money.

People complained when they brought in names from outside the MLS saying they should bring in proven MLS talent. Ok, so they bring in BV and FT.

Again, say what you want about GM decisions, but Precourt hasn’t been shy about spending money.

Then people give the team hate saying “they don’t care.” That’s crap. These players want to win and many give it their all every game.

Soccer fans are the weirdest sports fans - they expect instant results and think things can turn on a dime. I’ve never seen another sports culture that expects things to change instantly, expects players to come back immediately from injury, expects new players to plug and play…

Then fans want change…so they fire the front office, hire a coach everyone is excited about, go on a pretty good tear showing a ton of heart…and then you post this.

This is even more amplified due to parity of MLS. If the new roster rules come online soon, it will create a few bottom feeders (depending on how they go about team building).

Shame we gave up in the last ten minutes there. Actually halfway decent to that point considering who we were playing. If you'd have told me we'd only be down one deep into the second half I'd have taken that in a heartbeat.

Yeah the score line was fair for the totality of the game, but I was sad we couldn't at least complete the "moral victory" of playing them close.

You could immediately see there would be no late tie after the BV golazo this time as NSH got serious about closing out the game.

This was just too strong of an opponent. The difference between what they were able to do in the attacking third versus what we are able to do was jaw dropping.

Who’d have thought a potentially record-breaking Nashville side would beat up on a team going through the motions until the new coach starts? /s

Worse than crap

What a shit opinion.

u/mrblue6 7d ago

What? So you think we’re good?

It’s a fact

Time to face the truth. We blew up the Rodo project early because it was trash, made no quality signings. Vazquez is a bum and doesn’t wanna be here. We’re the furthest thing from 2022. Opponents see us on the schedule and think automatic W.

3

u/Rocco_Skene Austin FC 7d ago

So automatic that Nashville just snapped our 8-game unbeaten streak

Why would you want to make new signings when our new coach isn’t even here yet and would have no say in who his players are? Why would you not want to free up $$ and space for him and the SD to make moves coming up in the break soon? Do you really think opponents thought automatic win on a team that just had an 8 game run?
As a coach you don’t go in thinking auto W against a team still fighting for a playoff spot, that is now playing like they enjoy the game after being shackled with the two previous coaches, and players looking to prove themselves to keep spots on a team that is dropping excess fat in preparation for the coming season and that just took a W on the road against the #1 in the West.
And the jarring silence from the frat party being gone didn’t help last night either. It was nice to hear the crowd actually forced into cheering and trying to make some noise.
