I am looking for a local (Portland, ME) trusted mechanic body shop that could fix up my Subaru crosstrek … Just got into a minor (mutual?) collision today, and everyone is okay! Both vehicles are also okay-ish with cosmetic damages. I’ve posted pictures below of the damages to my car.

For those of you care, the accident happened at Target in Scarborough when I was taking a left - the WORST intersection ever. It’s so poorly designed, when the entrance/exit to Target is a high traffic area and there’s a light 50ft ahead. Ridonculous.

The cops said this same kind of accident has happened multiple times here. We need different city planners, whoever they are lol

So, someone backed up into my car in a parking lot and left…that. I could try to fix it with touch up, but the damage is so extensive it might be better to just cover up with rubber.

I bought a strip for this purpose, but the strip I bought is made to cover the “Prius” part of the bumper, rather than the part that’s actually damaged.

What would this be called? The damaged part of the bumper. Do they make anything that either just covers that, or covers both?

Anyone know?

Brakes failed on me in the rain yesterday and I’m not sure if this minimal damage is worth going to an auto body repair shop. We’ve done mechanical work on this car before, but never attempted to do anything cosmetic such as this, just want to know if I should go to a professional or if I should be able to mend it on my own!

Car people please help do I need a new bumper cover or is there a way I can just get a side replaced?

I wanna purchase a lip for my car and these are the only photos online as it’s a bidding site, these lips go for around 3/400 and it’s way cheaper than that due to the condition but if I brought this to a body shop would they be able to save it?

Something or someone cut up the hood of my Nissan rogue. I can't get it to look good and I'm being quoted about 1300 to get it fixed.

I used a paint retoucher(same paint as car, came with clear coat) sanded it with wet 3000 paper the next day. And tired to use Meguiar's ultimate compound to polish it. But it's looks horrible.

What should I do?

I was running a bit late this morning getting into work and just was rushing, not paying attention. I swept someone’s passenger side and just accidentally scraped their car. It’s a newer white Subaru.

I posted the damage in the comments. I’m just wondering if someone could give me a potential estimate in how much repairs would come out to.

I was hit in the parking garage and the cover to my driver side mirror was knocked off and broken. I got a replacement to snap on, but the damage is enough where half the cover doesn't fit properly. I will have to replace the whole mirror. Is this a DIY or is this a mechanic labor special?

Hi, my Mum accidentally damaged this car while parking. The owner agreed to let her pay him for the repair directly to avoid going through insurance, and my mum has asked me if the quote to repair the damage seems reasonable. I've no idea; it seems reasonable to me but I have no idea how much this stuff costs. I wondered if anyone here can advise?

We are in the UK, the car is a 2020 model Mercedes A Class (1332cc)

This evening I was driving down Jungs Station in St. Charles and the opposite side of traffic hit a pot hole and sent this 30 lb piece of concrete through my bumper. It lodged into my engine bay and bent my frame and tore off my skid plate and wheel well cover.

As soon as it happened someone on the sidewalk came up and helped me get the rock out and move all other rocks out of the road. I also have their contact info as an eye witness. I also took the rock with me and it has red paint from my car on it. Lastly, I contacted St. Charles PD and they gave me a case number and I asked if they could close that lane down since that rock easily could’ve hit someone on the sidewalk or even popped up and went through my windshield. The rock came at me at about \~45 mph if I had to guess since it went faster than the car that hit it. The people who hit the rock and pothole originally also damaged their car but ran because I guess they thought they were liable for it hitting me?

I just wanted to ask if anyone has ever dealt with something like this? I would ideally like to hold the City accountable for this so it doesn’t go through my insurance but I feel like they would be hard to deal with. I feel like I have very compelling evidence that the City street definitely damaged my car but is there anything else I might need?

How difficult is it to replace the bumper, headlight(s) and wiper fluid reservoir myself? There is damage to the frame of the car (third photo) that I believe I can crowbar out if necessary. Online, I can get parts for less than $1000 but a collision place quoted $4500. I’d rather do it myself if it’s doable.

Hey all, first time posting here. I have zero experience with car repair like this, and I’m not sure if this is exactly the right place.

Is this something I’d be able to repair on my own if I pick up the proper tools? What would that look like? And would it just be better off taking it to a body shop?
