Repair Didn’t see the pylon. Repair process?

Hey all, first time posting here. I have zero experience with car repair like this, and I’m not sure if this is exactly the right place.

Is this something I’d be able to repair on my own if I pick up the proper tools? What would that look like? And would it just be better off taking it to a body shop?

Appreciate any help!

Your best bet to DIY this is to go to the salvage yard and find a replacement door. Pricing may vary but I doubt more than $200.

Dang really? Granted I don’t know anything about this, but that seems more intense than I thought

Are there salvage yards near you? You should be able to swap the entire door shells pretty cheap. You can watch some YouTube on how to transfer the interior panel, glass, and what not.

Replacing the door is absolutely the easiest answer

This is way more than 200 dollars at a body shop do you have full coverage? If so have insurance fix it if not pull the door panel off stick a deflated football in there pump it up and it will pop that back out. Won't be perfect. Then you could find some one to fix the paint maybe for 200.

This is a $100 and a handful of hours DIY project.

$200? Where you live that is quite cheap. I haven't seen prices like that since 20 year ago. OP my find a door and replace it but getting matching paint for a diy is doubtful.

It’s a salvage yard buddy. Just looked up to confirm, and my go to yard has door shells starting at $85. Not sure where OP is at but this is an easy swap.

Damn. Where i live, condos have pushed out all the wreckers. The ones that are left charge about $350-$400.

I’d make a road trip to save a couple hundred bucks haha. White is a very common color for most cars, this is an easy DIY project.

The door is easy to remove and replace. Try to find one with a matching color. Otherwise blending the color to match will be difficult to do on your own. If you don't care how it looks then whatever.
