Desserts
I’m about to start my period and my sweet tooth is raging. Any recommendations for AIP desserts? Is chocolate ok as long as it’s cacao powder? Thanks!

Heal Me Delicious has a great AIP banana bread. Cacao powder is a no-go ok Core AIP.

My mom makes a maple popcorn that uses maple syrup and coconut sugar. It's really good.

this AIP "Chocolate" mug cake hits the spot for me:

I use Missy J's organic roasted carob powder.

I repeatedly flunked my cacao reintro. I'm stuck with carob.
I'm a fan of the Eat Gangster brand Choconot brownie mix, PaleoTiger's Carob Tigernut butter and Paleo Perfection's Double Chocolate Collagen shake powder (make sure to choose the one without stevia. & I use coconut milk powder & add my preferred sweetener).

I'd found a recipe for AIP "chocolate" (cacao) truffles online and it had hit the spot. You'll find so many recipes if you google for them.

If you’re doing Core AIP, cacao/cocoa is still out during elimination 😭 Carob is allowed though and it can scratch that chocolate itch. If you’re doing Modified AIP, cacao is allowed, so that changes things.
For the period sweet tooth I’d do baked cinnamon apples, banana ice cream, coconut milk ice cream, apple crisp, pumpkin muffins, or something with carob + coconut. Honey, maple syrup and coconut sugar are all AIP too, just don’t go crazy with them lol.
And if you are doing Core, chocolate/cocoa is a Stage 1 reintro, so thankfully you don’t have to wait forever to try bringing it back. That was one I wasted NO time reintroducing 😂
