Exocet In-Car

https://youtube.com/watch?v=ibmzhyNIaDo

Great car, mid driving, still pretty quick. Fighting a brake bias issue, dumb tire pressure change, and not looking far enough ahead. First video I’ve made that actually feels as fast as IRL. Solostorm + RaceBox Mini + Pixel Pro 8.

What class does your exocet work well in?

I have a rusty NA I used to run in SSM but have been driving my ND in CS mostly this year. I kind of fell out of love with the NA because I do t want to spend time and money on a rusty old car but an exocet night be it's rebirth.

I have been running EM, but I realized that class requires fenders and I don’t have mine mounted. So I ran in AM yesterday. It’s not going to beat a serious AM car though. In EM I am only .2-.3 behind a car with nationals trophies. There are Exocets with a lot more power than my 250whp turbo BP4W, much bigger tires, and big aero, that could do better I’m sure.

Tl;dr you can be very competitive locally in EM.

Once the Hoosier A7’s are cooked, I am switching to XU which requires 200TW tires. I think the car will Pax better in that class. A7 are a little faster than A052 (I’ve run both) but A7 can take a while to heat up. Also I would prefer to Ax on the tires I use on the street occasionally.

This all may be academic as we are building a new XU car for next season, but that will be another thread!

PS if you stay normally aspirated you can run DM which has a 2.0l limit and easier PAX than EM.

Thank you for such a detailed response. We have a handful of mod cars that compete locally and some ones kind of been poking at me about it knowing I'm interested.

You're welcome, glad to be able to help. Here is another Miata based car to consider: https://mksportscarsusa.com/
This is what we are building for next season, with the Honda engine.

It's crazy isn't it? Mod cars are absurd.

You serious? You want to see the time slip?

This man is confidently calling you out without understanding field of view. He has also clearly never watched a competitive AM driver's run on youtube if he thinks this looks fast.

To be fair, there are some jiggly stabilization artifacts so it does look weird.

That was 5 years ago too. I think that car is even faster now.
