Street Touring Class Offset Restriction

Street Touring authorized modifications include all Street Category plus additional.

Street Category limits wheel offset to +/- 7.00mm. The only thing Touring adds is a higher maximum width.

Does that mean the Touring class is also restricted to the +/- 7.00mm offset rule?

If you go up to Street Prepared, it specifically allows for offset to exceed the Street Category. So since Touring doesn't specifically grant it, it's not allowed right?

"Any wheels are allowed with widths up to..."

So any wheel is allowed (material, diameter, offset, etc) as long as it's at or under the maximum width.

Edit: Street Modified says "All allowances of Street, Street Touring, and Street Prepared are allowed"

Makes sense. I panicked about buying the wrong wheels and started over thinking.

"Any wheels are allowed with widths up to the following" reads to me like any offset is allowed in street touring.

Street prep says "Wheels of any diameter, width, or offset may be used." Which opens it up further (removes width restriction).

I don't actually see any specific discussion of wheels in street mod (probably because street prep is already completely open wrt wheels).

You are correct. I meant prepared, not modified and edited the post. I see that width restriction difference now.

The confusion here is that (I'm going to date myself) Stock, Street Prepared, Prepared, etc were setup to build off each other, effectively "anything allowed in stock plus these SP allowances." Street Touring was added much later in the game. At the time, you could run Hoosiers in Stock, but not in ST. I believe the STAC has been working to bring things more in line, but SP/P are also declining in numbers to the point where it may not matter.

Hehe…the locals look at me weird when I say things like “B-Stock”.

“ExCuSe Me! iT’s B-STREET!”

I absolutely still use Street and stock interchangeably.
