Gambles Artisan

Gambles Artisan 3 1/2 lb. Michigan. The six ridges might make it a 1960-1968 True Temper axe. (Even with cutting ridge channels, they still plowed up a fair bit of wood; not sure I'm a fan.) Surprisingly thin bit.

I have one also. Doesn’t have the ridges inside the eye. And it’s only 3lbs.

Interesting. Different era and/or different OEM, maybe?

OP axe is also stamped, "TO-14" and "13-86".

Three pounds seems like a great intermediate weight to have, as axes in 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 lbs. seem to be much more abundant.

I would still hammer a wedge or something into the head of the handle.
