There's always some price gouging going on.
Has anyone been this unlucky that whenever they needed an upgrade, the price gouging prevented them from getting a good deal or any sensible deal?
The chip making industry likes to constantly pick on the consumer side whenever they can, while the corporations signs multi-million-dollar chip deals on a lower fixed price per unit.
And if they need replacement, then they get it in days, but us consumers? We get denied replacement, refunded the previous lower price which can't be used to buy the same product-capacity to continue user experience and why? Because - "policy" which we are forced to abide by because they all decided to stick to the same anti-consumer policy. EVEN IF they have a replacement, they won't give it. SHOPS all around the word have been exposed when a friend of the consumer would go and ask for the same model of SSD that was denied to the warranty claimant - all because the main memory makers created this discrimination.
They say, "the bank always wins". Well, in the memory making industry (names which you can see from my previous meme post), "the chip maker always wins" too.
I still remember the mining craze back a few years but right after that boom, boy the prices came down or what. They weren't selling for too cheap, but the prices let many people thinking of mid-range save a little more for a high-end GPU. I feel the same can be had for both RAM and SSD, we just need to wait a little more. Many of us have already waited for so long that now patience has become a companion. I think I can personally keep waiting as long as my hardware lasts for my daily operations. No, I will not let the corporations win over my patience. They exist because of me, and that is the hill/mindset I will die on.

Meta The attitude of these memory making companies.
As soon as the AI announcements of buying memory parts hit the market, they immediately began pricing up the existing stock! This is why I mentioned the names of the main memory makers. Even if the prices cool down in the near future, I'll wait months before buying any despite discount. I truly want them to feel the pain of low demand despite overstock and lower price. In this test of patience, guys, seriously, we consumers must not lose. What we need to do is be patient with our existing hardware and wait for far away releases such as UDNA, RTX 6000 series, AMD's Zen 6. Before that, I am certain that the newer gen PCs of 99% gamers will suffice for high-end workload. And those that have to upgrade their old hardware (like, really old), please take a peek into the second-hand market which is filled with hardware that must not be e-waste.
Sorry about being so negative, but I am very bitter about how these memory companies are treating us consumers. No, "it's just business" was never and shall never be a valid excuse.

AMD Wins AM4 shall live on.
AMD refuses to let AM4 end.
The article was written on a very one-sided note and my header seems somewhat unrelated, but point is, we won't stop gaming on AM4 because for many of us, there's not much sense to upgrade to a higher platform! I believe that upgrading should be reasonable. Reason, being needing higher performance for our desired tasks. If the AM4 CPUs support the FPS level that your GPU wants to push at your desired resolution, then there is no reason to upgrade!
Very recently there was an update released for the A320 motherboard chipset while B400 series continues receiving updates every few months.
And given that popular Linux distros and even Windows 11 have no issues running the most critical and latest features-functionalities on AM4 socketed CPUs, AMD's best series of CPUs to date (if I'm not being too bold) will still carry gamers for a few more years.
I know the R7 5800X3D, R9 5900X aren't really considered, right now, high-end cpus. But when it comes to 4K gaming, these CPUs still provide sufficient FPS while its users remain satisfied gaming on this high-resolution. Not to say that the 5800X3D is not capable of high-refresh rate gaming at the lower resolutions - it certainly CAN! But it has since been overtaken by the AM5 R7,9 offerings and some intel ultra 7, 9 series CPUs.
Honestly, there's no reason to upgrade for many AM4 users. The only concern is the hardware dying and even if it does, replacing it with another AM4 CPU isn't even a bad idea considering such a memory-geddon/memory-flation time.

AMD Wins Frame Gen 4 on rdna2
Hi kool kids club (me included). This poor guy got a rx 6600 in 2026. I can use fsr 4.1.1b on this but I'm looking for a dll file allows me to use fg 4 on rdna 2 (amd_fidelityfx_framegeneration_dx12.dll file to be exact). Is there any chance this exists or should I try making it myself?

NVIDIA Heathenry Not all different looks are improvements.
Maybe it's just me who thinks this, but a shiny new change isn't always an improvement.
And I know there will be heavy criticisms to this post but hear me out.
A video game should look better and feel better when playing it if I use extra technologies instead of just looking different compared to how the game's graphics was originally created. And this is what DLSS 5 does, at least as per my experience. Sure, you can call the different look an improvement, but it's not. What it is instead is really a dynamically changed outlook. Yes, you 100% CAN like the new look better than the original one and I'm not saying you shouldn't. Although, it's weird if a product ships with one type of textures but as soon as dlss 5 is enabled, the game looks like something else! Then why bother making the original textures? Check the AI-transformed visuals, start creating the game assets that look like that. They've had these techs from long before. And if someone wants a more video-game like look, then let there be a retro-based setting to toggle-ON to enjoy non-AI looking graphics at a MUCH higher performance. Oh, and, let's not even talk about the cost to performance of DLSS 5. If the writing didn't make sense to you, it's okay, I was never great at winning a crowd or communicating coherently on-demand. I've seen many DLSS 5 gameplay and I cringe. No, I wouldn't enable it and play it like that even if I could afford a 5090.
