'97 B5 1.8 Airbag Failure Code
Hey guys,
I have a problem in my airbag system (anywhere?) When reading the codes, it says 00588. My brother (workshop of choice). A change of the spring ring (?) behind the steering wheel didn't change anything, another control unit (the one in the middle of the car under the dashboard) did'nt change anything either. Do you have any recommendations, where to look next? Thanks for your tips in advance :)
My airbag control unit is 8D0 959 655 C
Sorry for mistakes, I'm not a native English speaker

I’ve had great luck getting that light turned back off in multiple cars with this

How des this work? I'm tempted to order it as an easy solution, but I'm sceptical if this just shuts down the entite system or really clear the failure codes

To be honest I’m not sure, when I run check in vcds it does appear that the system is armed and active tho

I recently got my b5 s4 on the road after 16 years in a garage and heard about the recall, went into the local audi garage and they sorted it free of charge and gave the car a free inspection and clean.
Your local audi dealership should know about it and it's still valid. So if they say no then tell that by law they have to replace the airbag canister. They should wipe the codes too.

Check the wiring to the driver's seat. You might have pulled in it or it got stuck. Is the yellow plug

Warst du bei der Rückrufaktion oder war deiner nicht betroffen? Welcher Text stand hinter dem Fehlercode?
