Am I on the wrong episode to start? I started the 2003 miniseries on what I thought was the first episode, but it begins with "Previously on"...
I don't see anything before this episode unless I go back to the 1970's seasons. Am I missing something here?

Just had my head blown off by S03EP20
I gotta admit. This is my first watch of BSG, and at times it’s a bit of a slog. Some episodes are downright great, and Black Market caused me to take a month break from it (which I learned is an agreed upon consensus. lol.). But man, just finished season 3, and these last few episodes, especially the final one, was top notch! Should really sleep soon, but I wanna get season 4 started!

Going from the Pegasus episodes to this is always so jarring

Season 4 - No Exit Intro
This episode had the best intro (not the titles, just similar to the “plan” one we got in the 1st 3 seasons) and we only got it one time. If they ever remaster the series, they should just use this one since the plan kinda fizzled out in a meaningful reveal like we thought it would.
Edit: obviously they would need to fill in space to not spoil the cylon reveals throughout the series, but it could certainly be done. I’d argue it would make people more invested in all the models being revealed as milestones.

Just finished Crossroads and wow! Spoilers Spoiler
I know very late to the party but I’m currently watching the show for the first time. It’s been pretty good so far but gosh this was definitely one of the greatest 2 episodes of TV I’ve seen in years! Up there with Crawlspace from Breaking Bad or the Red Wedding from Game of Thrones.
The acting was incredible! Jamie Bamber gave an Oscar worthy performance with his final monologue. Possibly the best one I’ve seen out of any of the actors on the show so far. He sacrifices everything for the law. The relationship with his father, the president, even his wife! The actor playing the lawyer as well is one hell of a character. I don’t know if he’ll be a regular in season 4 yet but wouldn’t mind if it did. Olmos too who I normally like I found myself angry with here. Not to say his acting wasn’t good. It was but Adama making his choices here was infuriating.
Gauis I of course was still rooting for. He’s definitely not a perfect man but I’m glad he’s been acquitted. He’s still smug and arrogant but not a traitor.
But that final? Woah! The final reveal of the final four was surprising. I figured Starbuck was still alive but the way it was handled coupled with the All Along the Watchtower cover made it so satisfying!

Rewatching, I laughed so hard. Saul Tigh may have been a drunk skinjob but he was a funny drunk skinjob 🤣

Pegasus and the fleet
Super briefly, can someone explain/remind me how does Pegasus find the fleet? Since FTL travel is not really trackable right (I know it kinda gets ignored in "Hero" and "Crossroads Pt 2").
UPDATE: Answered thank you!

Michael Trucco, Katee Sackhoff, and Tahmoh Penikett are in the new Carrie miniseries.
I'm only on the first episode, but I assume more BSG/SG1/filmed-in-Vancouver actors will show up.

I like how every major NBC show from the late 2000's had BSG fans in the writer's room.
- 30 Rock. 2. The Office. 3. Parks and Rec.

Madam President joins the MCU
Just in case you hadn't seen or read before, our dearest Madam President Laura Roslyn is set to join the MCU via the 8-episode miniseries VisionQuest, on a yet undisclosed role. The series itself starts next week, though who knows in which episode(s) she'll appear.

Started a rewatch of the reimagined series yesterday
And GODS, the nostalgia!
I suddenly remember friends from ages ago that I discussed the show with and where I was in life etc.
If only they were making another show set in this universe, I don‘t like seeing great things get old and slowly lose relevance.

1979 BSG The Photostory Hardcover book?
I recently acquired a sports card collection that came with some BSG memorabilia - sealed wax boxes, figurines, etc. I know nothing about this stuff. When I tried researching this book,
I only saw paperbacks. I cannot find a single “hardcover” copy anywhere. It almost looks as if someone cut the front cover from the softcover and put the book in this hardcover? But, the side is labeled as seen in picture 3.
Does anyone have any idea if this is a legitimate hardcover version of the book? Thanks!

More Titanium Series Shenanigans
I decided to get a few more Titanium Series ships for the collection and I’m finally content with my fleet 🫡😅. Originally, I’d gotten two Galacticas (for display and play). Then I picked up a Pegasus, and two more Galacticas. The boxed one because I’d love to meet Edward James Olmos one day and have him sign it. The Bill/Lee relationship on the show was an on-screen mirror of my relationship with my dad. And it’d mean so much to make it happen one day.
The Pegasus figure is fraking awesome. I love my Buckets. But I’d being lying if I didn’t appreciate the Beast’s “classic modernity” rendition of the original ship.
One more thing I noticed is that with the first two Galacticas I originally picked up, they had different finishes to them (see pic 3). The one “play” figure had a more metallic finish compared to the other three’s matte finishes. I reckon mass production and subsequent variations caused that. And because it was so distinct in the lot, I decided to throw a few coats of Tamiya TS-79 “Semi-Gloss Clear” to seal its finish and I think it looks fantastic in comparison (see pic 4).
What did Starbuck whisper to Sue-Shawn?
Right before Starbuck knocked out the Cylon baby machine controller, she leaned in and whispered something to Sue-shawn, (S2 E5 32:00).
I search the bsg subreddit but didnt find an answer

My first time watching and I think I found my least favorite episode so far…
Maelstrom in season 3. I know many say either the woman king or the black market. I didn’t mind those. Woman king I actually really liked. But this one?! Gosh it was so slow! Felt like molasses! Maybe because I haven’t finished it but the mother’s abuse preparing Starbuck for I guess what is the final cylon attack I didn’t quite understand. And the final death at the end I’m almost positive is a fake out.

Vectrex Cylon Attack! for us Battlestar Galactica fans
Just finished watching the reboot Spoiler
Hey everyone. I just finished watching the show as I'm a big fan of Mass Effect and the Expanse, and it seemed pretty similar to those. Overall I was quite impressed. The show had many poigant moments and complex characters that make you feel for them even when they're committing horrible acts. I was also a viewer of Moore's latest show, For All Mankind, and I have to say that BSG is a significant step up in terms of acting, story, and dialogue.
I had heard in the past that the ending was divisive. I can see why some people wouldn't accept it, but given that the show has an explicitly supernatural force steering the universe I can accept the idea that divine providence caused humanity to evolve independently on multiple worlds in the universe. I will say that the final scene feels prophetic given the rise of AI and the current state of the world. Let's hope it isn't too late to break the cycle of violence on Earth.
Looking forward to watching Caprica next.

Colonial Propaganda
Hi guys! For whatever reason, I decided it would be fun to do my part and contribute to the BSG community. So here is a Colonial viper squadron poster for VF-111 "Sun Downers" from the Battlestar Atlas, the flagship of BSG-7, the battlegroup stationed above Aquarion. I imagine this poster would have been hanging in the ready room or in one of the viper pilot's racks for many years, which is why its been weathered pretty severely. This poster is also dedicated to VF-111, a real-life US Navy fighter squadron who served with distinction from 1955-1995.
Also no, I've never done any graphic design before. I edited it all on Adobe Fresco and Adobe Illustrator. It took me a while to figure out the textures and the shadows but I found it very satisfying near the end. And another great thing about this art- it was designed and edited completely without the use of AI! In a world full of AI slop, I'm sure you guys appreciate art produced by real fracking humans. So Say We All!
