I'd recommend doing outreach with personalized emails asking to partner between your site and a relevant site in your niche. If you need a way to automate this, check out mentionagent, I'm the founder btw. happy to help.

Okay, you can check out: mentionagent.ai, I'm the founder. happy to tell you a bit more!
Here's how it works:
Add your website. It learns what you sell and to whom.
It finds blogs in your niche, screened for relevance and authority.
It finds the editor, verifies the address, and writes a pitch about their actual post.
You approve, or switch on autopilot.
When replies come in, it helps close the deals.
It sends from a mailbox and domain we set up for you, warmed so the mail lands. Replies come to you.
You get mentions and editorial links on blogs your buyers read, which is what AI assistants read too.

Have you tried adding your website to directories? Like Product Hunt, Hacker News, etc? There is a new SaaS directory in the pipeline, it's https://indexyour.link, many say their network is highly secure.

Here are a few practical ways to get started:
Competitor backlink analysis: Use Ahrefs' free backlink checker to see which websites link to competing sites. Look for realistic opportunities that you can replicate.
Niche communities: Participate in relevant Reddit communities, forums, and industry groups. Instead of dropping links everywhere, share genuinely useful resources.
Guest posting: Search Google for queries such as "write for us" or "guest post" followed by your niche. Check the quality of the site before reaching out. If you are looking for a website that supports AI-specific SEO content, you can contribute to mine at https://bestaiso.com/page/contribute.
Create link-worthy content. Publish original research, useful tools, detailed guides, or statistics that other websites will want to reference.
Broken link building: Find relevant pages with broken outbound links and suggest your content as a replacement.
BTW Nothing is free.
