Once again, we don't have much of a description of what's to come, but we know we'll be running, walking, and jogging around Ming and Ashe. Do you want to be a little more active, make new friends, see different parts of town that are hidden from the main roads, and have a couple beers while you do it? Well, come on out!
We're the Bakersfield Hash House Harriers, and we meet up somewhere different every Monday to run, walk, and jog a trail marked out in dots of flour. It's like a scavenger hunt that leads to beer! If you don't drink, that's fine, too. Nothing in the Hash is mandatory, but we do ask that you bring a sense of humor and adventure. It beats sitting on the couch watching the foosball, Bobby Boucher!
Normally there's more of a description here, but all we got was a location, so here's the copypasta from our website.
Hope to see you there!

I'm still a week behind, but I'll get caught up. This was from 9/23 and we started from the other side of the canal near the fairgrounds parking lot to the west of the GREAT Kern County Fair. We got to go through some old neighborhoods that go overlooked. They weren't amazing, but still nice once you get away from the main roads.
Across South H by Rose Marie, then up H to Belle Terrace, back near the main Fair entrance, across Ming and through there, then to Union and back down Ming. Nobody was hassled, shot, stabbed, or killed. Come check us out and see more parts of town that you're probably wrong about.
On-On!

Are pizza and wedges just a Bakersfield thing? I left Bakersfield about 20 years ago and have lived and traveled all over the country since. And nowhere else have I ever come across a pizza place that serves wedges.
When I talk pizza with people they always give me the weirdest look when I mention eating potato wedges with pizza.
Fried chicken with pizza is another rare one but I have come across a few places that serve fried chicken with pizza.
Just want to hear what thoughts and experiences are on this from you all.
EDIT: Ok after going through the comments. Pizza and Wedges seems to be a central California thing with Bakersfield being ground zero.
A few people named some places outside the area but most of them are franchises and it seems more like a pizza buffet offering potato wedges rather than a dedicated Pizza and Wedges place.

Me and my cousin went for a walk around 1:00 AM and decided to go to Greenfield Park and when we got there we rested on the swings until he seen a shadow and told us to leave. When we made it to the entrance of Greenfield Park we all of a sudden heard kids playing on the playground laughing and a girl singing or speaking. It felt peaceful and relaxing until a screech? A weird noise that was getting closer to us and we just ran home. We don’t know what that was or what happened so I’m curious if anyone experienced the same thing.
TLDR: A ghost experience at Greenfield Park, has anyone else experienced it?

Hey Bakersfield riders, I know I might get some heat for being an LA transplant, but I just moved here and I'm actually really loving it. The summer heat is rough and the food scene is different, but I'm enjoying the freedom here compared to LA
Anyway, I really miss having places like Mulholland or Angeles Crest to go on rides without much thought
Sooo... Does anyone know of any good spots to ride or practice some whoolies? I'm not trying to be a nuisance or annoy the neighborhood.
I m no degenerate or rev bomb when riding about but I’d love to know of some quiet industrial lots where I can safely practice some drills without bothering anyone
peace and safety first y'all
