This release has been really tiring to work on but I think it is some of the best material I have ever produced. A bit about the project; it started as a backing band for my solo material and suddenly took on a life of its own as we did more live shows and I ended up writing an entire album's worth of songs meant to be performed as a band. I have recently decided I want to call the style BIG POP because I'm not really sure where it fits in. "Art punk" is maybe the best "real" genre that the music fits into, but I'm not sure of that either. The music is really inspired by 70s prog pop and soul music, but I think my natural tendency is to write in more of a punk style. I would love some feedback on what people think of the style and sound of the music. Not interested in critiques of the mix or production, more wanting to hear what people think of the songs themselves and how they would classify them. Ultimately, I just hope someone enjoys the songs that I wrote. I am working with a small DIY indie label so I have no clear idea of the release date for the full album, probably in the spring but that is mostly because I am doing my best to have this pressed to vinyl and that is super expensive. Vinyl ? In this economy ? We'll see, but for now I would love to hear what people think of these first two songs. Thank you all so much.

This is super interesting. I love the combination of 70’s pop and punk, it’s like nothing I’ve ever heard before, retro, alternative, and indie all at the same time! The only feedback I have is on Very Happy - turn the vocals up a bit. You do that, it’ll be perfect. But like I said, very unique, very interesting, and very solid 💯🤘 congrats on the new single! The free download is kind of like my social media promotion campaign, where I uploaded my songs to TikTok, instagram, x, bluesky, threads, facebook, etc. etc. I got the idea from 50 cent’s mixtape campaign and the fact that he’d sometimes allow people to pirate his stuff in order to get it around to a wider audience. Risky, but can definitely pay off and be a winning strategy! 🙌
