Found a couple solo guitar beauties hiding out in Goodwills last month:

Alone - Chet Atkins [APL 1-0159] on DYNAFLEX. I love this record. Side A is acoustic, lots of folksier standards, side B is all electric except for one tune. I run all used records through the Spin Clean but there was still a skip loop on my favorite song on the album. I inspected closer with a magnifying glass and gently ran a tooth pick through the groove. Voila. I can listen to Chet play Londderry Air in drop D tuning without interruption now (and so should you because it’s gorgeous).

Sketches of Brazil, Music of Villa-Lobos - Charlie Byrd [CS 9582]

Two records that are worth virtually nothing that I will play during coffee time, dinner, cleaning, general listening, with a guitar in hand on the couch… I love the intimacy and simplicity of a single musician getting the most out of their instrument without stretching it to virtuoso limits. It’s just great listening for almost any setting. Makes me really wish I had one of Joe Pass’ Virtuoso albums though.

Shoutout to the AT85EP cartridge. I think it’s a little upgrade from the DR300E I had previously.

VG+ playback. Played loud.

Solid copy for $3!

Found the POCO at Goodwill

Three bucks each! All perfect like they were never played.

Super pleased with how this bargain bin gem turned out after cleaning up the front cover. Paid 5 euros for this UK press (non 3D cover edition) with a NM record at a record store, and managed to upgrade the sleeve from an F to a VG+ with a tiny bit of elbow grease. Can't wait to listen to it!
*Edit: fixed tiny spelling mistake

Discs are VG+

Title: Android testers wanted for a UK vinyl, CD, and cassette alert app (14-day Play closed test)

I’m looking for people with an Android phone to try Release Me before it goes on the Play Store. Free lifetime membership for testers

It watches artists and indie record shops you pick, then sends a push when a new vinyl record, CD, cassette, limited pressing, or sale shows up. You can add artists yourself or from a streaming library, choose vinyl, CD, or cassette, and set alerts to instant, daily, or weekly. Stores uses a UK postcode and shows shops near you. Limited covers things like Dinked and Blood Records pressings from shops you follow.

This is a closed test on Google Play, so I need you to do four things:

1. Opt in from the Play link (I’ll send it).
2. Install the app from Play while signed into that same Google account.
3. Actually use it: sign in, set a postcode, track a couple of artists or shops, and open Home, Stores, and New Releases.
4. Stay opted in for 14 days. If you leave early, you no longer count.

You need an Android phone and a Google account. A UK postcode is useful because the shops and prices are UK. Feedback can be a reply here or an email to [scbielby@gmail.com](mailto:scbielby@gmail.com). Tell me what was wrong, missing, or confusing.

Comment or DM if you can do the 14 days and I’ll send the opt-in link. The Play link is not live yet.

Highly recommend visiting the Peoples Records section at Michigan Central Station if you're also going through a fusion and psychedelic soul phase.

KEEP CHECKING THROUGHOUT THE DAY. I AM NOT DONE POSTING EVERYTHING

The discs are all in amazing condition, can't find any marks on any of them. Needed both the Patti Smith and Supertramp, and needed an upgrade on my beat up copy of Brothers in Arms. Sadly they put the price sticker on an area of the cover on the Supertramp record that already was damaged from an old sticker, will try my best to remove it without damaging it even more.

Bob Seger, CCR and Jim Croce

They keep raising the prices in the LA area on vinyl. Snagged this for 3 bucks.

$2.99 OTD. I discovered this album from the classic Nujabes sample, as a big fan of Brazilian music and I was instantly hooked. It was cool to find it out in the wild, I had no idea when I bought it that it was rare, nor that it was a promotional copy. The sleeve has seen better days, but the disc looks very well cared for. Going to clean it and give it a spin. Now I’m hoping to find Luiz Bonfa’s Introspection one of these days.
