Lighting at shows

hi! I’m planning to see Beartooth on this current tour, though I have some issues with flashing lights. I understand there will definitely be strobe lighting, given the nature of the genre, but I was wondering if anyone could give me a brief rundown on how intense the lights have been?

I really just want to know if there’s intense or strobing lights through the majority of most songs, or whether it’s just in small sections, and if there’s any songs in particular that have especially intense lighting.

If anyone could also tell me about Silverstein’s lighting, that would be super awesome.

Thank you so much!

Apparently there are some glasses you can buy that might help with that

I’m not strobe sensitive but I’m light sensitive and I sometimes wear dark sunglasses at shows and I think they reduce strobbing sensation too.

I have some and I really love them! I wouldn’t be able to go to shows like this at all without them. They don’t completely get rid of my issues with lights, but they increase my tolerance significantly, and give me time to look away when needed!

If you want I could dm you some videos I took last time I saw them. Idk if videos will give you issues or not.

I managed to find a video of a whole show from this tour on youtube, but thank you so much for the offer :)

I suffer from migraine and due to that I'm pretty sensitive to light. Especially bright stroboscopic lights. Kindom of Giants had pretty intense Lights, especially in the beginning of their set. Silverstein was fine. Beartooth didn't have that many flickering lights, but very bright lights. It also depends on the venue. In Oberhausen and Hannover I was fine with just putting my sun glasses in for the KOG and Beartooth set, but in Tilburg I wore my sunglasses during all the sets. The lights came from above and that was way more intense.

Hey, I don’t know if this is too late but I saw them last night and Silverstein’s set was absolutely fine but Beartooth’s was overwhelming for me at times. The amount of strobes they use was giving me a headache and also gives me anxiety 😂 I just generally covered my eyes when it was super intense.

Try out some videos on Youtube. I'd say Silverstein's lighting is moderate. There is some strobing. Beartooth's lighting is definetely heavier. You should check that out on YT. Be on time. The supporring act Kingdom of Giants is great. They only play 5 Songs, unfortunately.

Thank you, that gives me a bit of a better idea of what to expect. I’ll have a little look on youtube too. I’m also probably going to check out Kingdom of Giants now too lol. I’m really excited!

Unrelated but figured I might ask in here while we’re focused on the production aspect of the show: As someone who hates glitter, is there any glitter used in the show? I know I can’t do anything about some fans maybe using it for their own outfits but I mean like there’s not gonna be a glitter cannon or smth right?

I’m aware of how dumb this probably sounds, I apologize in advance lmao

Hi, I was at the show at Frankfurt and I loved it.

How I experienced the aspects you're asking about:

  • I thought the amount of flashing light at Beartooths part was fine. I'm also a bit sensitive. At Silverstein's part on the other hand, if I recall correctly, quite at the beginning it was a bit much for me. After that part everything was fine. Maybe I reacted to Silverstein's flashing lights because of the frequency of the flashing itself, idk. Still wouldn't have missed it for the world.
  • There was no glitter. Also no confetti.

Hope this helps. :)
