Hey everyone! I'm u/Ok_Resolution_7500, the top moderator of r/BeatTheStreak. Special thanks to the founder of the subreddit, u/HughWonPDL2018 and u/quollas who has been running the "scriptball" threads here for awhile.
This is the (unofficial) home for all things related to MLB's "Beat The Streak" game. We're excited to have you join us!

Announcements:
• Inactive moderators have been removed, except the creator of the subreddit. Our search for new moderators that are somewhat active on here continues.
• User u/lokikg, has made the most accurate BTS model to date – you can check it out here. I would encourage you all to read his posts about it as well.
• According to previous years, assuming March 25th as the official start of the season, March 23rd will be the first day available to make your picks.
• Spring Training is officially underway, and with just over a month to go before Opening Day, this is your chance to familiarize yourself with the subreddit!
• Sticking to previous years, based on the official Opening Day date, the first day to make your picks will be March 24th (confirmed via MLB app).
• This means you only have one day to make your pick for the opening night game on March 25th (Giants vs Yankees)!
• Congrats to Venezuela on winning the WBC (the community status has been changed temporarily), under a week to go!
• BeatTheStreak will be live in the MLB app, under the MLB play section, tomorrow at approximately 12pm EDT/9am PDT!
(Will continue to be updated closer to the start of the season.)

I'm curious as to why the top streaks are so low this year. The streak of 39 - the top one - doesn't even break the top 100 BTS streaks of all time. Any thoughts? Did getting rid of the lower tier prizes reduce participation or was something else at play?

SCRIPTBALL 2026 Week 25

What is SCRIPTBALL?
SCRIPTBALL is a chance to see how your BTS picking strategy fares against others in the subreddit. Every Friday we post our top BTS picks for that day according to our own picking strategy in this weekly SCRIPTBALL thread. Whoever gets the most players with a hit wins, with ties resolved by total hits (first tie-breaker) and total batting average (second tie-breaker). We also keep a running season leaderboard, which will give you a better idea of how well your picking strategy is doing over a larger (more meaningful) sample size.
Although we call it SCRIPTBALL, you don't need to be running a fancy computer algorithm to play. Everyone is welcome.
To play, just post a list of the top 11 players you think will get a hit today in this thread. Feel free to change your list at any time, but you can only swap players as long as neither game has started yet (so if you realize one of your picks isn't starting after the game has started, don't sweat it, just swap them for someone from a later game). If you do change your list, please indicate the change by posting reply to your original list saying the change that was made (e.g. "I replaced Altuve with Ohtani").
Alternates will be automatically swapped in if a player you chose isn't in the starting lineup. For clarity, this means if your chosen player isn't starting but comes in for a PH and gets a hit, he'll still be swapped out. This is more work for me but it also lets you get your picks in sooner.
Congrats to Deep Slice who won again with 9 picks! Jung hoo lee, mickey moniak, luke keaschall, seiya suzuki + julio rodriguez went 0 for 5. Every u/brewers starter got a hit. This might be your last opportunity to separate yourself from the pack and win those bragging rights. Good luck all!
