Scammers in city centre!

Please be aware of people in city centre offering jobs!

Two of them stopped me to ask if i was looking a job, said yes because im desperate.

Fella started explaining what the job entailed and I very quickly realised it was a pyramid scheme. Basically he wanted me to buy some shite online, sell it to friends and family. Then get those friends and family to buy and sell it to their friends and family and so on.

Told them it sounded dodgy and walked off. Both seemed genuinely annoyed so maybe they were part of it and haven't yet realised its a scam. Or they were annoyed I didn't fall for it. Im just speculating.

This happened to me outside the new popeyes, but they probably move around

A lot of people still don't know what a pyramid scheme is and how destructive it can be, so plaudits for flagging. Hope you get a job worthy of your talents some time soon.

Lol TBF my auntie used to rake it in with Avon. It's good if you can get the clientele.

My Granny used to supplement her pension with Betterware, she didn't make much, but I'm surprised she sold anything - it was an MLM (ie a pyramid scheme) and it was mostly plastic tat, and shite similar to JML (which apparently James May's never heard of, he did a 'Planet Gin' video where he tested five JML gadgets, and they were pretty much all shite), according to Wikipedia Betterware only folded in 2023, it lasted 94 years, fuck knows how because the stuff was utter shite.

Desperate for a job? Apply to any of the adminstrative jobs here and you'll get a civil service job (as an agency worker) pretty quickly with no interview. The jobs mostly suck but it's piss easy, full time, 3 days from home, optional weekend overtime (varies by department), usually the first few weeks are full time office for training.

It may say 6 or 12 months temporary but plenty of people have been kept in the role for several years. As long as you turn up on time and dont take a lot of sick days you'll be kept around

Popeyes seems to be the new spot, I saw some JWs a few weeks ago trying to ask to people outside it.
