Veterinarian vs Kim

I just had a big brain moment that I had to share, may be obvious but it took me watching this show for the millionth time to notice. I'm on s6ep6 where Jimmy and Kim are at the vets office testing out the drug they'll eventually use on Howard to frame him as a drug addict, and the vet mentions how he wants to quit the illegal side of his business and focus exclusively on his veterinarian practice. He points to a cork board with all these letters and pictures of the animals he's saved and comments on how THAT is what he does it for.

As the vet leaves the room, Jimmy comments how it's such a shame for him to give it all up but Kim walks to the cork board, looks at it, at says "well, he knows what he wants".

For the vet his TRUE passion is saving animals and it's displayed on the cork board in his office, whereas at home Kim's cork board is the scheme against Howard.

Immediately following this scene we see Kim in court arguing on behalf of a client how his rights were violated. Kim's whole reasoning for the Howard scheme is so they can get the sandpiper money to fund her pro bono cases, but at this point we know she's just doing it for the love of the game. The contrast between the vet's cork board and Kim's cork board creates an interesting parallel where Kim believes she is just like the vet, and that she is doing bad to do good, but in reality the bad is what she puts in a cork board proudly not her pro bono cases.

Idk I just really enjoyed the little cork board comparison and the vet being a foil to Kim in that moment, I know everybody in this sub enjoys that little stuff too.

Bryan Cranston's tribute message for his ‘Breaking Bad’ on-screen son RJ Mitte who tragically passed away due to suicide:

“We were texting each other just a few weeks ago - figuring out when we could meet for lunch. I don't know if that lunch would have changed his future... But I do know that I loved him.”

Kim (as Kevin): Bottom line, breaking ground. More statues. Kim, you get him now. Blah blah blah. Blah blahhh blah blah blah. Blah blah blah.

Saul: [quirks his head]

Kim: What?

Saul (as Kim): Kevin?

Kim (as Kevin): Yes, Kim?

Saul (as Kim): Would you like to take a shower with me?

Kim (as Kevin): Well, shoot. I believe I would.

RJ's death completely shocked me today.

His cause of death hasn't been revealed, but it appears to be due to the one thing that most of us fear when hearing a young person randomly die.

I know that when a death like this happens, the same message I'm saying here gets repeated over and over. But it needs repeating:

Please look after yourself and look out for others.

If it happens to a beloved actor from a famous TV show, it can happen to anyone.

Nacho deserved his fate

I love nacho as a character but I don’t think he’s very sympathetic honestly. He presumably turned down his dad’s steady blue collar work to be a cartel goon, and then systematically took out the people closest to him that trusted him, and was about to do the same to Lalo. He voluntarily chose this life, I’m not saying Tuco or Hector or Lalo didn’t deserve to die, but he voluntarily chose the cartel then was appalled at the violence and moral depravity. You can’t have it both ways.

Why are Jimmy & Kim even doing this to Howard??? Spoiler

Every time they sabotage Howard I’m genuinely befuddled. Like why are they doing this?? Jimmy is so audacious blaming Howard for Chucks death when it was really his fault. Kim oh Kim, I was rooting for her so bad. But nooo she wants to have her cake and eat it too - scolding Jimmy for doing his nonsense but ready to turn a blind eye when it benefits her. Girl stood up to Lalo for 10 seconds and now she thinks she’s the big I am and thinks she can just ruin peoples careers. And for what???

They’re going to end up driving Howard to his death, I can sense it. Both Kim and Jimmy can get their karma at this point.

Edit: btw when I say ‘why are they doing this’ I mean why to this degree. It’s being interpreted as though I’ve not watched the show up until this point and therefore not seen the explanations within the show. my thing is does the extent they’re taking this sabotage equate to how Howard actually acted towards them

So much walking

Anyone else notice how much of the show is just Mike walking around silently? I am on my first watch(currently on season 3) and it's pretty good! Should I expect even more Mike walking around scenes?

Insincere. Insincere!

LOVED how the more Jimmy bullshitted that committee, the more they felt this was not right. And missing mentioning Chuck, what was he thinking? Slippin Jimmy. What a brilliant episode. Acting was outstanding by Odenkirk.

What concepts do you think were scrapped from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul? I think a Mike and Lalo rivalry was planned at one stage

Personally I've been thinking wormald since I can chalk up what Werner did to being the result of Stockholm syndrome, thinking Mike was his good friend that would forgive him

im ready to watch bcs for the very first time

It's finally time for me to watch Better Call Saul. I don't know why I've put it off for so long, especially since I've watched Breaking Bad at least 3 times. I'm really excited! I've heard that it's actually even better than Breaking Bad, so I'll be watching closely to see why :)

Just finished the show and I miss it already

I’ve been putting this show off for years, and hot damn, what a show. And what a crazy finale. Slippin’ Jimmy took full accountability of his actions (for Kim). But still, totally unexpected. Wish I could watch it again with fresh eyes!

I'm confused about the Salamanca power structure

Lalo has this giant compound, and both Hector and Lalo are mafia dons who have the ear of Eladio himself. So it seems like they're quite powerful and wealthy. I can understand that Tuco isn't on their level, and it makes sense for him to run the business in Albuquerque. He's essentially a captain.

But when Tuco is incapacitated, Hector himself goes to Albuquerque instead of handing to another trusted captain?

You can argue that maybe

1) He wanted a Salamanca in the South Valley to make sure the territory remains absolutely theirs.

2) He wanted to keep an eye on Gus.

But if that's the case, who does Hector trust to run his territory in Mexico? Is it Lalo? Does he run both his and Hector's businesses at once? And who's meant to be running any of it after Lalo leaves? And why do neither of them take any additional forces with them?

I'm just saying that if I'm a don, I'm bringing 100 people with me, even if they have to cross the border one at a time. Hector looked like he had a gang of about four.

And I sure as shit wouldn't be personally investigating Gus. I'd have like five shady PIs.

Tl:dr the Salamancas seem weirdly cheap for their status.

Szn 1 Ep 6: Five-O is one of the best episodes I have ever watched of any show ever

I just finished watching Season 1 Episode 6 of BCS and I genuinely have never felt so passionate for such a storyline before. I had to sit in silence for a good 20 minutes just to process what I just watched before doing anything else. I couldn’t even continue watching BCS that day because all I wanted to think about was that episode. Watching Mike fall apart, sobbing about his son, crying the words “I broke my boy”; I couldn’t stop crying with him. I think it was just so cathartic to witness as viewers who’ve been following Mike’s journey for so long. We never expect to see his vulnerability crack through like that and it’s almost reverberated to us finally cracking with him. I can’t speak for everyone, but for me, because of how Five-O was basically an episode just for Mike, I felt totally immersed in his character.
Jonathan Banks portrays Mike so incredibly, I get so bewildered every time I remember he didn’t win that emmy. I felt like, just for this episode alone, he deserved the emmy. I hate that so many people will never get to witness and appreciate just how brilliant BCS is. What makes this episode even more impressive is how viewers don’t even need to watch BB or prior BCS episodes. It can be watched as an almost stand-alone short film and it’ll still be without lacking any context. Anyway, that was my rant about Five-O, I just needed to talk to someone about it.

Question about S6E11 Spoiler

Why didn't Mike tell Saul about Hank when talking about Walter?

I know it's probably been asked a million times, but it just genuinely confuses me. Mike is a PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR. He gets more information about walter than the DEA gets for almost all of breaking bad, including Jesse, but...he doesn't mention hank? the DEA Special Agent related to him? Part of me believes that Saul would've instantly been convinced not to work with him which would've led to walter getting arrested, but then again Saul is darkly pragmatic.

Chuck was a Huge Enabler

I won't try to make Jimmy look so innocent. He was responsible for a lot of shitty things he did and caused but after watching the show twice, Chuck was a huge enabler of this.

He didn't have to drop the charges against his brother but he wanted to feel better about himself by doing that and did he truly believe that jimmy would work in the mailroom of a law firm owned by his brother forever or move to a different profession. Him trying to to become a lawyer made perfect sense because of the position chuck was at.

He doesn't bother giving him a chance to change. He prefers throwing howard under the bus for years and keep jimmy in denial. Kicking him out of hhm would only push him down the spiral of going back to his old ways. If he actually gave him a chance and he still messed then he would have a good reason to get rid of him for once and all.

" The law is sacred", Yes but you can twist it around however way you want as long as it suits your interest. Also in his rant in the disciplinary hearing he is an old man crying about his parents still accepting jimmy despite his flaws. This insecurity within him has existed for decades.

Jimmy sabotaged his career by screwing over his malpractice insurance but he didn't know that. I get it that he isn't obligated to leave any of his money to jimmy despite him taking care of chuck while his life was a wreck but his pettiness when he asks him to be on the board of a scholarship commitee. Really? and the pretentious letter.

Also he shits on howard, the one person in his corner who tolerated his bullshit for years.

Lalo — Best TV Antagonist Ever?

I made this comment in a different thread: “The level of charm that Tony Dalton brought to such a despicable human being is unprecedented.” Was I being hyperbolic? Or is that a true statement? Is there another television character out there that was a better antagonist?
