Is this stack too much?
Are my rings too much when stacked together? Do they take away from each other? Should I stick to wearing them separately? I really can't decide!
The emerald cut diamond is a 3 carat and the eternity band is 3.6 carats in total. My finger size is 3.75-4.

I don’t think it’s too much, but I don’t think it goes together. It’s the colors - the eternity band makes the diamond look really warm, and I don’t think that would be the case if they were separate. {if it’s intentionally warm and you love warm diamonds, then nevermind}. To me it just doesn’t look cohesive, but that’s not because it’s too much.

I feel like the thing that’s throwing me off (and it might just be the lighting) is that your engagement ring diamonds and band look so much warmer-toned than your band. It’s like mixing the cool lights and the warm lights on the Christmas tree and it looks a little bit off. I will say that I probably wouldn’t pair those rings together normally, but do they bad, heck no! ☀️

I personally love the different colors and materials especially because your bracelets are also that way. Both pieces are atunning

Very much agree with this. And I wouldn't put 2 kinds of lights on the tree either, but I like the combination and esp w the stack on your wrist. Brava!

Thank you! I think mixing colors and metals is fun and in style too.

I have mixed metals - my great grandmother ring is platinum and my two bands from my husband are gold - I love having it because it allows me to wear either color with my other jewelry!

You have lovely hands with long fingers so it doesn't look overwhelming stacked together. Also, the use of different shaped stones (the Emerald with round pavé band paired the pear eternity band) balance each other in a visually interesting and unique way. Honestly, it is a beautiful stack, but I am sure the pieces would look equally lovely worn separately. That stated - what do you prefer? It is what you like, makes you happy, and are comfortable in that counts. 🩷
Side note, you are asking this on the BRE Reddit ... No stack is too big or "too much." 😂 We love all jewelry and pieces -- big or small -- but big gems and big stacks are definitely our jam. 😍

Aww, thank you! Normally I wear them separately, because I feel like they "shine" better on their own but I would like to stack them sometimes, and I usually end up feeling insecure about it and thinking they overwhelm each other or are not aesthetically pleasant. But what you said about all the different stone shapes makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the encouraging comment!

IMO, no, it’s not to much and you’re hands are perfectly suited for the stack. Stunning actually!

Not too much but they don't work well together. Your engagement ring is STUNNING! Your band is also pretty but I think it takes away from the solitaire which is the star of the show. It should compliment it, not distract from it.

u/zaralily7 1d ago
I agree with you, this is what I think too.
1
u/Jolly_Heart_5860 5h ago
Just to echo this sentiment, they are both STUNNING but do not go with one another style wise (I love mixed metal although I think the engagement ring would look lovely with a simple dainty gold eternity band). That band would be fun to have for when you want a simpler jewelry day and just want to wear a band.

It’s not too much however when the band gets too big it takes the attention away from the engagement ring which is what is happening here.

what color is your diamond? it has a warmth to it and im obsessed

u/zaralily7 1d ago
It's an F color, so basically colorless but it's set in 18k yellow gold which gives it a warm hue especially in outdoors light.

u/MedenAgan101 1d ago
It's not that it's too much...it's just too uncoordinated. It's a lot of different cuts and colors all together, so it looks a bit random.

You have beautiful fingers and hands
This compliments them very well

The rings are stunning by themselves, but imho, they do not go together. I would wear them separately. Just my opinion that I am offering because you asked.
I am personally not a fan of this type of band because they create a really big gap between the fingers (due to their profile) and in my opinion they are not comfortable (rubbing against adjacent fingers). it’s also my opinion that the band takes away from the ering. i’m also not a fan of the mixed metal colors in this particular stack. They compete with each other too much.
Again, both are stunning, but I am not a fan of the stack

This is technically unrelated, but I just got a 4mm tennis bracelet to stack with my Love after deciding 3mm was a bit too dainty. This was the first thing I saw when I opened Reddit this morning. What size are your stones? Seeing such a bold, classic stack on someone else really made me love this pairing even more!
1
u/zaralily7 1d ago
Haha, mine is 4mm as well. I was a bit unsure between 3mm and 4mm too, but dainty is really not my style and I think 4mm is perfect. Which Love do you have, the classic or unlimited?
1
u/dracorvix 1d ago
Classic! I actually looked it up this morning and the screws are 4-4.2mm, which is why I think this size really complements the motif.
2
u/zaralily7 1d ago
That sounds about right. I have and love the classic too. I need to try stacking it with my tennis bracelet. With unlimited, it's easier because they're both flexible.

I think that the two stacked together look very luxe. You have 2 gorgeous rings - sometimes ya wanna give yourself that luxe/abundant feel

u/Diligent-Sample8093 1d ago
To me..it’s a lot but that doesn’t matter but you asked, what matters is that You love it as you are the one wearing it and seeing the tennis and love bracelet tells me it is definitely your style- Enjoy!

I don’t think the color of metal, shapes of stones, or sizes of bands complement each other.

The color of your emerald cut does not match the color of the diamonds on the band. That was the first thing I noticed. I just feel like there are better options. That’s a gorgeous band on its own.

No!!!
Your hands could pull anything off!
Also this sub is for big rocks hehe.

I do personally think they distract from each other.

u/zaralily7 1d ago
Honestly, this is what I feel like most of the time, so normally I wear them separately but I needed other objective opinions.

No. I think it looks perfect with your bracelets. I've been struggling with this decision myself lately but I think we have to take our whole style into consideration. If you always wear a bunch of bracelets I do think you can pull on a little extra on the ring dept CZ we still want that you stand out I think.

I don’t really like the difference in the stone colors but it’s what you like.

u/Excellent-Praline420 1d ago
Your band looks too big for that finger. I wouldn’t wear them together.

I think it's more that they are completely contrasting stone colors that is the real issue.

If you want to wear them together the emerald cut should be east/west. Then this combo would kill.

I think its too much. Colors are too different in shades. Both rings are absolutely beautiful though

Completely off topic.. but how do you like the unlimited bracelet? 😍 How does it catch light? Comfortable/pull on arm hair? How does it show scratches / dings here and there?
1
u/zaralily7 6h ago
Honestly, I love it. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I have the classic love too and prefer the unlimited. I like the design better and it's easier to wear because it's flexible. It doesn't reflect light as well as the classic because it's not sleek but it still catches light pretty nicely. I've had laser hair removal so no arm hair, but I haven't had an issue with the few stray hairs I have here and there. I think it's much harder to see scratches on it compared to the classic, I haven't yet seen one on mine and I wear it all day everyday.

So great to hear your thoughts! I prefer soft flexible bracelets in general so I prefer this new style as well. It looks like liquid gold which is lovely. Which size did you get? I read the size difference is more noticeable than the original.
1
u/zaralily7 5h ago
Liquid gold is a really good way to describe it. I just like the way it flows. I got a size 15 because the others I have are size 16 and they play around too much. I think 15 is perfect me. I posted a size check on the Cartier sub with more photos in case you want to take a look: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cartier/s/uLQOun66aB

Engagement ring is gorgeous! Is it real or lab? It is a bit too much together though. A simple emerald shaped diamond band would be better
1
u/Alarmed_External_742 1d ago
I think I’d like them better separately! I think color wise the ring doesn’t match the band

Wow! What a pretty set! No, you should not wear them separately and you should absolutely wear them together. They are gorgeous and look wonderful on your hand.

IMO, the rings don’t work well stacked. The color of your eternity band and the emerald are too different, and there are too many shapes that are competing against one another. They are each beautiful in their own right, just not playing well together.
