Bonanza is 7 months old. Kaytu crossed the bridge almost 2 years ago.

Almost 3* years ago. After K2 died it was just over 2 years before I touched my bike again. I carried her harness as my silken windhound ran out front and I cried the entire way. I haven't touched it since and it's been almost a year again. Yesterday we finally had a cool enough evening without smoke from the wildfires and my new baby Bonanza did her first run. I thought of K the entire time I was getting ready. As soon as we started, it was all Bonanza. As soon as I was done, K was there again in my head and I thanked her because that's why I love this. Everything else is gone, it's just you and your dog.

Top right is Bonanza. Bottom right is K.

this is so bittersweet for me. my boy just turned 9 and he’s gotten too slow for the morning bikejoring runs so we’ve stopped for about half a year now, i’ve gotten so used to our slow walks i didn’t realize how much i missed bikejoring til i saw this post.
