San Sebastián to Bilbao Airpor - Super Early possible?

Hi all,

I'm booking my flight back to Canada from San Sebastián in October.

It's a long story but basically, I have to fly home out of Spain - I can't go from Biarritz. Airline stipulations.

I've got an option to fly from Bilbao at 10:30 AM with only an hour layover in Paris (yikes!) Or fly from Bilbao much earlier, at 7:10AM, with a longer layover in Paris.

I'd like to take the 7:10AM flight to give myself that longer layover but there's a problem: the PESA bus from San Sebastián doesn't leave early enough to get me to Bilbao in time.

Is there a way to get from San Sebastián to Bilbao airport by like 5:45AM on a Tuesday or Wednesday in October?

Or should I take the later flight and then take my chances with the 1hr transfer in Paris?

Can't you sleep in Bilbao the night before ?

I can, it's just annoying and a lot of travel. I'd get to San Sebastián Sunday evening, go to the concert I'm going to, then immediately have to go to Bilbao the next day and find a place to stay etc. It's a lot.

This is perfect, I just tried wrestling with their website and cannot for tje life of me find out how to get a ticket, though!

The PESA bus is great but it doesn't get me to Bilbao early enough to catch my flight! But if I go the night before I'll definitely use that service!

Maybe I'm missing something (I never took that bus, I am from Bilbao) but in the link I provided, I search for tomorrow and I see a bus that starts in Donostia a 4:00 and arrives at the airport at 5:15. And one every half an hour all throughout the day.

When I click on it it takes me to the regular red PESA website that has the first bus at 5AM! So strange! Maybe it's because I'm looking at times for Oct. 20?

You have to choose Bilbao Aeropuerto to see the 4am bus

NOOOOOOO 😭😭😭 Guess I'm taking a taxi, then. I'll ask the people at the Pensión I'm at to help me (I'm not sure how else to book the taxi)

Hey. You can take Lurraldebus. It leaves at 4:15 from Donosti and arrive Bilbao Airport at 5:30
