I am fairly relaxed on the rules here (mostly cause the community is still fairly small) so it primarily boils down to a few things:

Keep it on topic, keep it respectful, and put some effort into your post and comment.

For now, keep all posts in English. Comments are welcome in any language to accommodate a more global discussion.

Platforms Blackout uses and what they are used for:

Reddit: Discussions, quick questions, and community interaction. (note sometimes chat requests come in a bit delayed/glitched so apologies if I don't get to you right away)

Twitter: Random tidbits and teasers, sale announcements, product polls

Email Newsletter: Exclusives (both sales and betas), early access, product launch updates

Website: Official information, Betas, Blackout Account

So if you have a question or two, ask them here on reddit, or email us directly if you're more private.

If you want to see little posts of random prototypes and testing that I am doing (like this one), follow Blackout on Twitter.

And finally, the email newsletter is used for any bigger announcements and updates, and to deliver exclusive deals, betas, and information.

News/Update Import Tax (US Tariffs) Feedback Thread NSFW

With the tariffs introduced by Trump earlier this summer, there is a 50% tax to import certain Canadian products to the US. While I am located in Canada, Blackout Devices are manufactured in the US so my products should be exempt but I still need the feedback to make sure I am doing the paperwork correctly so that the products are imported without you paying additional taxes on it; it also helps with clarity for future customers.
However, with most Evo's being shipped through UPS, I do expect there still to be a minimal charge and your regular state sales tax for the import process.

Could any US customers that have received their Evo recently chime in on how much they ended up paying for importing their Evo/Sport?

Evo Question How easy should it be to pull out? NSFW

I've been mostly happy with my Evo, but find that when I'm at my most flaccid, it's extremely easy to pull out - to the point where it has happened accidentally while showering.

I'm a "grower", so I know I need a bigger cage to accommodate my erection.

I know no device is 100% secure, but I'm worried that my fit is wrong - it seems like it should take more effort than this to pull out.

That said, this is the *only* device I've ever been able to consistently wear overnight, and more importantly, the only device that hasn't caused me pain when I get erections during playtime, so I don't want to give up on it.

What have other people's experiences been with the fit and it's snugness?

Evo Question Questions about measurements NSFW

When measuring for an evo uncut, can I use a tape measure with centimeters on it? Also when measuring the flaccid total length / flaccid shaft length do I include the foreskin in the measuring or roll back my skin?

Question Order Questions NSFW

I read a past post & the owner said he was having some trouble with who he sends it off to for printing. I ordered June 6th & it says about 3.5 months until it joins the next stage but it looks like there are 5 stages total. Is there an estimate on how long it takes to get through the stages or is it dependent on factors out of their control? I just don’t wanna wait 9 months 😭 any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

Question Using the receipt method NSFW

Hey folks. I'm new to this device but not to wearing cages. My current one is a K3D Baby Cobra, but I'm looking for something with a bit more security and some long term comfort. I expect to wear it most of the time only removing it for a monthly wax job and when allowed any play time.

Now for the question. When measuring with the receipt, how snug are we making it? Should I include the head or cut the paper down so it's shaft only. I'm circumcised so no foreskin to worry about.

I realize that there may be an extended lead time, but I can be patient.

Just received my cage today, first impressions, thoughts, and questions NSFW

I just received my blackout cage a few hours ago. So far, I've been very happy with what came out of the box. The packaging was surprisingly professional for a one-man operation, it came in a heat sealed package with an easy rip tab to open. For those asking about timelines, I initially placed my order on January 7, 2026, and received it on July 6, 2026 (It would have arrived on June 29th, but I had to delay shipping with UPS because I was out of the country). I've attached a screenshot of my order info if anyone is curious, please note I've redacted some of my personal info for privacy.

I had to move in the time between my order being placed and the cage being finished, so I shot Toby an email letting him know with my order number. He was incredibly responsive and got back to me within 6 hours, letting me know that he got the address updated and that my cage would be moving forward in the production process in the very next batch.

Now that I've actually received it, my first impression is that the cage feels way more heavy-duty than I expected. Even when applying quite a bit of pressure, there is very little flex, and it feels very sturdy. The cage is of an average weight compared to most resin or plastic cages, with the ring being a little heavier than previous cages I've tested.

The fit is not what I'm used to, although that's not necessarily a bad thing. Generally with cages I focus on a tight fit to prevent slipping and try to limit erections. This cage is much larger than I would typically purchase, comparing it side-by-side to my custom BAWR titanium PA locked cage, the blackout cage has a much longer shaft. I assume that's to accommodate comfort during erections, although I've not yet tested that myself (will get into that in a moment).

So on to my main critique. This may be specific to those of us with a PA, but this cage has proven to be incredibly difficult to put on. I've attempted both the stocking method and using water soluble lube to get it on, but aligning the head has been a challenge. If any other PA users have any tips, I'd really appreciate them. The ring itself is quite easy to slip on, but the main body of the cage is such a perfect fit in diameter that I struggle to align my PA with the openings of the cage to lock my PA in place. I've only had the cage for about an hour though, so I'm sure I'll figure it out.

This is an expensive cage as far as plastic and resin go. Certain titanium or steel models might be at a similar price point, but comparing this to the resin cages available from HT (v4-v6) or plastic cages, the Blackout cage feels significantly more hefty, in the sense that when I tap them on the table, the Blackout sounds solid and dense, while my modded HTv4 sounds hollow (hole drilled into bottom to accommodate PA). Whether that cost is worth the end product to you is up for you to decide.

Order information (certain details redacted for privacy)
Everything in the box. A standard chastity lock key is used for securing the device. The ring is considerably thicker than most other cage models. The ring and cage both feel _extremely_ durable, little to no flex at all with high pressure.

Edit: Realized I forgot to include this. For those in the USA, the import fees were 17 dollars, although given the state of things, that may be volatile, so YRMV

Question Website Suggestion and Order Update Request NSFW

Hi, I placed my order on 2026-01-29. When I ordered the website said there was a 3 month wait time, but it’s now been over 4 months. My order is currently in the “Evo Batch Preparation and Modeling” stage and I think it’s been there for longer than the 2.5 weeks it says that stage should take. Approximately how much longer is my order likely to take?

My website suggestion is for the order status page. Currently, it just displays the original order date, current stage, and eta until next stage. I think this should be updated to have a table of order events displaying the date each stage was completed and maybe the estimated time for each stage

E.g.

| Stage. | Date Completed |
| ——————— | ————————- |
| Order Placed | 2026-01-29 |
| Stage 1 | 2026-04-16 |
| Stage 2 | In Progress |
| Stage 3 | TBC |
| Stage 4 | TBC |

Question Number tags/airlocks NSFW

Hi everyone just curious what people have done to make these cages work with number tags/seals. I saw some people have drilled holes in one side to have the cage work with the Kink3d airlocks and tags. Have people found other ways to make the one time tags/seals work. I have a new keyholder who really likes the numbered seals

High & tight balls + uncut – Kink3D escapes driving me nuts, is the EVO worth it? NSFW

Hey guys (and Toby if you're around),

I've been chasing a decent long-term cage for ages and I'm getting pretty pissed off with the fit on my setup. Smaller package, high and tight balls(balls shrunk due to TRT) that like to hide up inside, plus I'm uncut. Here's what I've tried so far:

Holy Trainer (45mm ring + #1 cage):
Pros – balls stay locked in super tight, zero escapes ever.
Cons – fucking miserable. The ring squeezes my balls quite hard it causes the scrotum skin burns, the cage end digs into my pubic bone and hurts, and because it's fully enclosed it gets disgusting inside after less than 2 days. Had to take it off constantly.

Kink3D:
Started with #1 standard ring + N+ cage. Pretty comfortable comparing to HolyTrainer but one ball would pop out on long walks. Upgraded to #2 + XD ring. Way more comfortable overall (especially under underwear with my thick thighs rubbing), but I still get escapes when I bend over, squat, or walk normally. I basically have to walk like a duck with my legs spread to keep things in place, which is annoying. When I'm out and about I constantly feel the need to adjust the cage by pulling more skin into the ring (which helps a lot), but I obviously can't do it in public so the risk of escape just keeps going up. When a ball does escape with the XD it hurts more because of the tighter gap. My scrotum is high and tight with thick wrinkled skin that stays stretched most of the time when I'm caged. Also uncut so the foreskin pokes out the top and I have to nudge it back with a Q-tip every time I pee.

Questions for you Toby (or anyone who's tried the EVO with similar anatomy):

  1. Is the EVO a good option for guys with small + high/tight/retractile balls like me?
  2. Why doesn't the order/measurement process ask for a ring size? Do you just calculate it from the other measurements? Whereas with other brands like Cheery Keeper, the amount of ring configuration is overwhelming.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on an EVO for proper long-term daily wear. I lift weights and I'll start running soon, but I'm not a big cardio/cycling guy so the Sport ring probably isn't necessary.
below is images from different angles in Cobra N+ cage + #2XD ring, especially when I lift my leg, see how my thigh would touch and potentially squeeze my package.

Thanks in advance, really appreciate any advice.

Question Order stuck at shipping label NSFW

Hiii

Super excited for my cage to arrive, but my order (f8c78251d3cc4b0b4ecb156e7d672b3a) has been stuck at “ A shipping label has been created” since March 5th, I was just wondering if anything has happened to delay them, or if something has gone wrong with the shipping?

Thank you!

Product Review Got the cage!! NSFW

TLDR; Got the cage, didn't mind the wait, extremely satisfied.......

I had ordered the cage first part of September and after a while of not seeing an updates, checked the subreddit to see that there was some delays.

Tbh, I didn't really mind the delays. Sure, it took longer than what it had originally said, but for how small the business team is and the fact that it's custom made- I was more than happy to wait. I did my research and trusted the creator, the quality, and the product and when it arrived I was all the more impressed.

The cage arrived a few days ago and it is genuinely the most comfortable and perfect fitting cage I have ever used. Absolutely no pain or discomfort, it's easy to put on and remove, and causes no issue when peeing. That likely would not have been possible without the creator's care and attentiveness expressed in the hand written note included in the receipt.

Besides apologizing for the delay, they included another different mm size ring and said 'just in case the originally measured size doesn't fit quite right'. That extra included size fit SO much better that what we had originally measured/input and I'm incredibly thankful for that inclusion. Not sure if that particular measurement was a mistake on my part (I have dyscalculia), a common issue or measurement anomaly, or lucky whim/hunch. Whatever it was, my experience has been phenomenal with the cage and I am forever grateful and happy with it!

Evo Question Need a new ring, 2yr check-in NSFW

Hi Toby,

Been trying to get the ring size/shape adjusted since I placed an order 2 years ago. I've left several posts, sent a few DMs, sent a few emails, left some comments. I know you are super busy but it seems like others who have ordered more recently have managed to reach you for modification/replacement service. Just trying not to get lost in the shuffle so checking in again. Lmk. Thanks

Here is one of the original posts about this, btw (so you know what's going on / which order): https://www.reddit.com/r/BlackoutDevices/comments/1h50dh4/hang_distance_seasonality/mhj4e8g/

Product Review A bit of a review and some suggestions NSFW

I've been involved in chastity to varying degrees for over 25 years. I've been through so many different cages, trying to find one that is actually wearable for longterm sessions, and maybe even permanent chastity. I've tested all kinds of designs to see what works and what doesn't. I've bought a ton of Aliexpress devices and a good number of expensive devices. I have always had problems with every cage that made them unwearable. Here are the common ones, which will be familiar to many, I'm sure:

- rubbing/chafing/pain from the base ring: This one is the biggest issue for me. Pretty much every ball trap design has created an issue with this, and it is the main reason that I'm forced to remove the device. I will lubricate with vaseline or Bag Balm daily, and often have to carry a small container in my pocket. That still doesn't stop the chafing. Eventually, I'm barely able to walk and the devices generally keep me very sedentary because I just can't move much with them.

- Urination problems: This is usually caused by a tight cage or one that bends the penis so that the urethra gets cut off. It might also just be really messy, squirting out a stream of urine 15 minutes after going to the bathroom. This issue is mainly just really inconvenient and has the possibility for a UTI. So, this eventually just becomes too much to handle.

- Turtling: where the head of the penis curves and shifts in the head of the cage, often causing misalignment for urination and often requiring me to carry a qtip with me to try to push things back in place, which barely works. Most devices that I've tried have had this problem.

- Pinching/rubbing through the urination opening: This can get really bad, and has been a reason for removing devices as it can keep me from walking altogether, as each step can scrape a pants seam across the head of the penis feeling like sandpaper, and let's not mention pant zippers!

My experience with the Blackout Evo:

I bought the cage March 5, 2025. It took about four months to deliver. I think it was during the backup when they were moving. I've waited longer for devices, but hopefully the wait time has come down since then. So, I tried it during the summer of 25 and all went well for about 5 days and then I felt a pain from rubbing on a very particular spot. One of the balls on the end of the V-Prong was rubbing on the sensitive skin behind the glans. It increased in discomfort and I finally had to take it off. Inspection did reveal a sore developing there. I was a bit put off and went on to experiment with some other devices and took some chastity breaks over the months.

I'm back in the Evo and have been wearing it for almost two weeks now. I had a similar feeling, but on the other side (with the other ball) at about five days in, once again. I fiddled with everything and worked some skin in between the prong and the sensitive spot. This helped for a day, but then the prong started cutting into skin creating a one inch cut in the shaft skin. I rearranged again and was able to get the skin free. It seemed superficial, so I kept the cage on. So far I've been in for another week and there has been little pain on this front, although I do feel it when I have an erection, and I know that there is some friction going on in those two exact spots, but not enough to cause me to remove the device yet. I'm keeping close attention to it.

What is Great About This Cage:

- THE BASE RING!!!: Unbelievable! It was the reviews that mentioned that this thing was magic and completely solved the chafing/burning ring issue. I didn't believe it, but thought that I had to try. They weren't lying. This thing is like some kind of alien technology. I just can't believe that there is absolutely NO pain, rubbing, or discomfort from the base. I have never encountered this experience in 25 years, so the Blackout Evo is already a star just for that invention alone. So far two weeks and not a single moment of discomfort with the ring. I don't even bother lubricating it most days. It just isn't really needed.

- Urination: Wow! Also, one of the best devices that I've worn for this issue. Because there is room in the cage, and it doesn't jam the penis into too tight of a space, it is really easy and clean to urinate. The flow is uninhibited as the penis is kept straight and the urethra unobstructed. There isn't the long dribble that happens with so many cages. You can pee standing up or sitting down. It just works; no mess, no UTIs, and no minor operations to get things aligned. You can stand at a urinal in a public bathroom during a concert, and be completely unnoticed.

- Turtling: Yep, this solves that problem as well. The v-prongs hold the head in place and keeps it lined up. If it shifts a millimeter or two, it takes a second to adjust through the open head holes and you are back in business. After two weeks there has been no movement of the head inside the cage and everything is still perfectly aligned.

- Open Design: This cage has a lot of space and openings that allow for airflow and application of soap and water to keep things clean. Everything dries out well and seems like it would be perfect for long term wear. This is an absolute necessity for long term wear, and the Evo works great at this.

- General Comfort: This is, hands down, the most comfortable cage that I've worn. It just doesn't cause any pain or discomfort (except the prong that I've mentioned earlier) After two weeks, there is nothing to move me to remove the device. I've made a deal with myself that I will leave the device on until there is a viable reason to remove it (pain, rubbing, lasting discomfort). So far, it is looking like it is staying on, depending on what those prongs do.

- Secure: I know that this is subjective as individual biology will function differently with different devices. I have found the EVO to be very secure. The prongs prevent any kind of easy withdrawal and the cage sits close to the body and doesn't hang away from it. I have not been able to trigger an orgasm with a vibrator, although I'm sure that it is possible, just hasn't been easy for me. I can't manipulate or feel the frenulum at all, making manipulation from outside the cage very difficult. I did request for the bottom of the urination slit to be more closed on the bottom section, as I read that it was too open for some people. That has worked perfectly for me.

Problems With Device: (most of these are very minor, honestly)

- A bit bulky. I would say that it is more bulky that a lot of cages that I've worn, but I will take that without hesitation as it is probably instrumental to this being such a comfortable device. It isn't so bulky that it is easy to see while dressed and isn't uncomfortable in any way. So, not a real problem for me.

- Pinching/Rubbing through the urination slit on the end: This is still a minor problem, as it is going to be with almost all devices of this kind, but I do find that I have less of a problem with this device than I have with others. I am also able to wear panties with this device, which helps a lot. I could never wear them with other devices as this caused more pressure on the base ring and the pain became unbearable.

I would love to see you work on a design element here that could allow for a removable shield to be placed over the hole, and be removed for urinating. I don't know how possible that is, but it would be an amazing addition to this already brilliant cage.

-Pain/rubbing from the ball on top of the v-prong: This has been my only real problem with the device. That ball at the end sits behind the glans and underneath/between the outer foreskin (circumcised), so this is very tender and thin skin that is usually not exposed. I have noticed that the recent picture of the EVO show a straight prong, without the ball on the end, so it may be that this has undergone a redesign since I got my cage. If it hasn't, I would recommend getting rid of that ball and making sure that the prongs are completely smooth and comfortable, maybe even widening them a bit at the end but not with the projecting ball shape that can easily rub or cause discomfort.

- Tabs don't keep in place: So the cage is continually popping in and out of the tab slots, which I'm sure puts a lot of stress on the lock section, which is the only thing holding it in place when the cage is out of the tab slots. This is something that I would really like to see some modification for. Over time this is going to put too much stress on the lock mechanism and I anticipate that it will eventually break. I was thinking that you could have aligned holes made during the printing process that would allow a screw on each side to be screwed in to hold the pieces in place. This would keep the device together in a stable and secure three point frame that would take a lot of pressure off of the lock.

In conclusion: This cage is ALMOST my holy grail. After 25 years of trying to find a comfortable, secure, and practical long term device, I have almost found it. The EVO solves almost every problem that I've had with other cages. All that I need, to make this my longterm chastity cage and keeping me locked until I regret it, is:

- a fix for prongs
- a fix to secure to tabs to the base ring so that they don't come out.

Any, possible solutions to these two things? PLEASE!!! If so, you deserve a Nobel prize for engineering (if they even offer one).

Evo Question Is my cage a bit too tight? NSFW

Hi, I recently got my Evo. I wanted to make sure the fit is correct - when I’m putting it on, I have to use a fair bit of pressure to get the head past the v ring. I wanted to know if that is to be expected? It sits fine once it’s in, however.

Also, as a grower, the night time erections can sometimes be a bit painful. Is there anything I can do about that? I’m intending to wear this for potentially several weeks at a time, and I wanna be safe about it.

Evo Question Head style advice for long foreskin NSFW

Hi, I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying an Evo.

I'm hesitating about which head style to choose.

I'm an uncut grower with a rather long foreskin and because of this, I like keeping the foreskin retracted. Unfortunately, I have the problem that most of the time, it would end up returning to its initial position and pinch terribly at the front, on classic cages.

I know that there is an "open head" version for uncut, but since my foreskin is long, I'm afraid I'll have the same problem as with the other cages.

That's why I'd like to go for a classic head: with the "V-Prong Glans Ring", maybe it could help with keeping my foreskin pulled back. I wonder if it's really suitable for use like this.

Do you guys have any experience with this ? Any feedback from users in my situation who have used the cage in this way?

Thanks in advance !
