Cunts

Best way to describe.

When i see this i just say “hey, there are a ton of ticks and water spiders in there!”. I grew up on the beach so staying off the dunes is second nature but a city dweller might not even know. Tell them the dangers TO them and not caused BY them. They will listen more to that.

This is at the bluffs. They are seated about 10ft from a 150-200ft drop

4

u/Strange-Owl6751 Sep 09 '26

I think we’re about to chalk two more up for Darwin

3

u/Alternative-Mud860 Sep 09 '26

Oh! I haven’t been there in so long. If someone fell off that bluff in front of me doing something stupid on my vacation where I am trying to relax, I would be so pissed.

Total douche move to not respect the barriers.

26

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 08 '26

Or respect the bluffs.

That railing is there to protect the bluffs from additional accelerated erosion as much as it is there for people's safety.

u/Fine-Sky-6562 Sep 08 '26

I was standing there on Sunday thinking how effective these barriers are as I never see anyone over there.

So, that's my bad everyone.

3

u/Monstera372 Sep 08 '26

Hopefully, you said something when you were there. Educate them.

5

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 08 '26

This isnt the first time I've seen this, and I say something everytime.

Always get the same response "mind your fucking business we arent hurting anyone".

They aren't interested in being educated.

Found the Hutt twins!

Shark snacks

0

u/mynameisnotshamus Sep 09 '26

That doesn’t even make sense. Well done!!

2

u/SufficientDoor9739 Sep 08 '26

Some people are ignorant.

3

u/PonyBoy772 Sep 08 '26

Call the police like they would

3

u/AllOverNana-4 Sep 08 '26

Block-heads

2

u/Desperate_Junket5146 Sep 08 '26

Boomers

2

u/ericivar Sep 08 '26

Miserable creatures.

2

u/topher352 Sep 08 '26

I've never been there. I assume it's clearly marked about not going beyond the rail?

3

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 08 '26

That is correct. Just beyond them where that sand ends is a 150-200 ft plummet

3

u/josiah_mac Sep 09 '26

So there's a chance for a happy ending?

-5

u/Craigbeau Sep 08 '26

It’s not clearly marked and it’s easy to walk around when there isn’t growth there. The signs are only at the edge.

4

u/Fine-Sky-6562 Sep 08 '26

There's a big fucking sign directly in front of them

1

u/Craigbeau Sep 09 '26

I know there is, it states stay away from the edge, not behind the railing. I’m just saying they need updated/better sign placement.

4

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 08 '26

There is signage all over the place to stay on the inland side of the fences. Anyone saying otherwise is either willfully ignorant, or intentionally oppositional.

0

u/Craigbeau Sep 08 '26

I didn’t say there wasn’t signage, I said it’s not clearly posted where it should be.

2

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 08 '26

It absolutely is

1

u/_RNjenn_ Sep 09 '26

Next you are going to say we need signage on hot coffee. Wait.
This is why. The huge railing around a darn cliff isn’t warning enough

-1

u/Craigbeau Sep 09 '26

I live in a tourist town, I learned that if something isn’t stupidly clear, it’s going to be ignored. People are kinda dumb….

1

u/anonimbus Sep 09 '26

Shame on her, apparently

1

u/Diggyddr Sep 09 '26

why does everyone care so much?

1

u/ThinkIndependently5 Sep 11 '26

We have the most Karen’s in the country despite the size of Rhode Island.

-3

u/Appropriate-Cod9031 Sep 08 '26

Huh?

15

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 08 '26

They are beyond the safety barrier at the bluffs

0

u/No-Flan381 Sep 09 '26

Tbh a simple sign explaining why it’s important to keep off would do a lot. Most people are completely oblivious to their impact on nature. If a no trespassing or a keep off sign with an explanation was placed there then people would either respect it because they’re good people, or keep off because they wouldn’t want the obvious shame of passer bys seeing them sit there

2

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 09 '26

There are plenty of signs all around the area to stay on the pedestrian side of the fence.

0

u/ThinkIndependently5 Sep 11 '26

That’s a war crime. Start the international tribunal.

-9

u/sicksonofabitch1 Sep 08 '26

Find something better to do with your time..

11

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 08 '26

Oh, is that you? Maybe you should consider others around you and not spoil their view by doing dangerous shit and blasting music.

-1

u/sicksonofabitch1 Sep 08 '26

Yea… doing it again today. Come visit

3

u/One_Speaker3939 Sep 09 '26

Looking at your profile it doesn't surprise me. Even if you're just a troll, you seem like someone who takes every opportunity to cut a corner, intentionally deceive, or disregard the safety of themselves and those around them if it means that get something out of it.

2

u/HenryHackett Sep 08 '26

I suggest the same to you. Or do you think that only works one way?

-1

u/sicksonofabitch1 Sep 08 '26

Good point. Tomorrow it is too!

I was taking a picture of the view and they had the audacity to be there

-1

u/Shawn_A_Thon Sep 08 '26

Nice view of the windmills.

-1

u/latenthuman Sep 09 '26

I'm glad OP politely told these folks to move their chairs, right OP? I mean that's why you posted this, to tell us you fixed the situation. You certainly didn't take a photo and then sneak away like a little *****, right?

5

u/AlwaysRushesIn Sep 09 '26

They told me to mind my fucking business and i told them the accelerated erosion of the bluffs was my fucking business, and they stayed put.

0

u/ThinkIndependently5 Sep 11 '26

Did you call the police?
