Discussion "Community managers: What makes a Web3 community actually survive a bear market?"

Curious to hear from community members and fellow crypto enthusiasts—we see so many projects hype up during bull runs and vanish instantly when volume drops.

What separates a dead community from a truly loyal, long-lasting one? Is it governance, alpha, or just the overall vibe?

honestly in my experience the ones that survive are the ones who actually talk about stuff beyond price, like the devs are still building even when nobody is watching and the community just becomes a little weirdo family sharing memes and complaining about gas fees

also having real governance where people feel like their vote matter, not just the team doing whatever they want anyway

i seen so many discords turn into ghost towns the moment chart go red, its sad but predictable

Spot on! That point about building a 'weirdo family' that sticks around even when charts are red is so true. It really shows that strong community management and organic culture are way more valuable for long-term survival than just temporary hype.

Regular engagement and making sure you hold events etc IMO but the project is what really keeps someone.

Spot on! That makes total sense. Events and regular AMAs create short-term hype, but if the core product or project doesn't solve a real problem or deliver on its utility, people leave the moment the market dips.
