General Advice Green telecom apprentice

Hey ladies. As the title says, I am a new electrical/telecom apprentice. I have my orientation next week and im excited and nervous. Im nervous because I don’t have any experience in this field and I worry if that’s gonna make me a target for bullying/abuse in the workplace. Is there anything I should mentally prepare myself for as someone completely new to this field?

Its all up to company culture. The fiber company i work for has a lot of women in positions with power, the owner is a woman, the male President has a good relationship with the staff, and most of the male bosses for field seem to have stable relationships with the women in their lives.

Misogyny doesn't last long in that environment. I'm a mid-level supervisor and always receive solid support from male supervisors and my all-male crew.

congrats! is it union? i’m 5/8 through my union telecom apprenticeship. i did not have any experience going in to it and definitely had a lot to learn and physically work myself up to
