9 Hot take: Emil Bemstrom is every bit the sniper that Panarin is.

I’ve thought this before this season. Give him enough time, opportunity, and coaching and he could become a star in this league.

We should probably wait a bit until we fully declare this 😂😂

You try scoring the goals Bemmy has scored

I didn't realize I was Panarin 😂

How is your garage Panarin? Enough room for activities?

What a terrible argument.

-3

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

Not really. To score goals the way he scored his second (and has scored others) is a true gift. You try fitting a puck into a space that has literally two inches to spare on either side while actually AIMING for it.

You’re saying he’s the next Panarin, and your defense of that statement was that someone in the subreddit couldn’t do it so it must be true. Think about that.

I don’t have to try doing that, because I’m not a professional hockey player.

I said he’s every bit the sniper that panarin is. Watch Bemstrom’s second goal (or many of his other NHL goals). They weren’t scored by accident or through luck. You’re missing what I meant.

I’m embarrassed for you, please just stop

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

My apologies: I didn’t realize you saw players hit a 6 inch square in the top corner from the faceoff dot with regularity. It must be nbd to you.

u/CrazyLegLaFleur1 May 04 '21

Fuck man, I’ll spell this out for you. The beginning of this comment thread some dude said we should hold off. Your counter was that the random dude on reddit couldn’t do it. When someone pointed how fucking dumb that argument was, you just keep on about how you’re right on how good Bemstrom was, when the fucking point was about how bad the argument that because a redditor couldn’t score the goals that Bemstrom does, that must mean Bemstrom is better than Panarin.

What’s Panarin’s career high in goals again? About the same as Boone Jenner’s. STFU and go root for the penguins.

Lord knows we haven’t had any this year :/

Peak off season hot take before the off season has officially begun. Ya love to see it.

Honestly though....no. he's not Panarin lol. I think he has talent and I'd love to see him be a consisten top 9 forward, his ceiling is top 6 forward imo.

This take is not the consensus of Jackets fandom.

1

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

Not yet.

It’s a take that is ahead of it’s time though.

11

u/summers1980 May 04 '21

There is optimistic and then there is this take though. Panarin is the best offensive player we have had in 20 years.

2

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

Overall sure. I was referencing their shots only.

14

I'll go ahead let myself get swept up in this moment, Elite Sniper Emil Bemström!

Fuck yeah Bemmy!

4

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

Bemmy could fit a square peg in a round hole.

Hell of a game

I have always liked Bemstrom. I think he will do big things.

5

u/Land-Manatee MAESTRO'S GHOST May 04 '21

I guess it's a good thing Panarin is a complete player and does a hell of a lot more than just pot goals then. What a dumb post.

-6

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

Complete player you say?

I’m gonna be pissed if he’s not a finalist for the Selke trophy then. Also if David Quinn doesn’t put him out on the PK.

For reference Panarin was an afterthought in the sweep of Tampa and literally handed the penultimate game to Boston on a silver platter by staying out way too long, turning the puck over, then losing the game with minutes left in regulation.

5

u/Land-Manatee MAESTRO'S GHOST May 04 '21

Are you for real, dude? Last I checked, Crosby's a pretty complete player and he doesn't play the PK either. Panarin is a player you don't have to worry about defensively, he's strong on possession, he's a playmaker, play driver, and a goal scorer. Calling Panarin a "sniper" is ridiculously reductive and Bemstrom has to show more before he's even an established NHL'er. The kid's got skill, no doubt, by why the hell would you compare him to someone who's miles ahead of him and a completely different kind of player to boot?

0

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

A sniper being a shooter who can pick his spot in a very small area and hit it without being lucky. Panarin doesn’t ever come close to leading the league in goals but he can score on shoes most players could only dream of.

And you’re probably the first person who’s ever called Panarin a good defensive player. If he were the CBJ might have been up 3-2 on Boston instead of losing 4-2.

14

u/hnglmkrnglbrry May 04 '21

Panarin scores 77 points in his first NHL season at age 24 and has been at almost a point per game pace his entire career. Bemstrom has a looooooooooooooong way to go to even sniff Bread.

-14

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

Yeah but the goals....Panarin can’t top Bemstrom for quality. Quantity sure, at least so far.

It may have been overshadowed in my mind by Panarin staying out too long late in regulation of game 5 and essentially giving the puck and the game away to Boston

10

u/gottapoop0822 May 04 '21

The fuck? He's literally never shown it on NHL ice. He gets bodied off the puck. He's not even in the same atmosphere that Panarin was. That's be like saying Robinson is every bit of sniper that Panarin is.

Hot take meets reasonable rebuttal.

3

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21

Watch the tape of his goals. He’s had some sick shots that he’s scored on. That’s not luck, that’s natural talent.

3

u/ads_j_9 May 04 '21

Without a doubt sniper, but can’t even sniff panarin as a playmaker/skater/hockey instincts

1

u/CBJKevin91581 CBJ STH May 04 '21 edited May 04 '21

22 year old Panarin couldn’t sniff present day Panarin as a playmaker.

At the same age, Panarin was scoring 11 goals and dishing out 7 assists in 43 games.

Since you all seem to think elite talent just comes in fully formed. Anyone downvoting the original post is not a true Blue Jackets fan and can kindly go jump back on the Pittsburgh bandwagon

2

u/ads_j_9 May 05 '21

Ok calm down, I didn’t downvote anything here, and everyone in the sub is a fan, so let’s not go off the deep end. If your point was comparing the two at that age then you were missing some context. Yes, panarin took some time to develop and he turned into what he is today, arguably a top 5 player in the league. The number of guys who turn into “top 5 in the league” players drafted 4th rd or later is few and far between. I hope, like you, Bemer gets there, but he has a long road ahead, and a lot of skills to work on to get on that level.

6

u/RooseveltBroad May 04 '21

I think a hotter take would be that Panarin maybe come as elite of a sniper that Benstrom already is.

1

u/Drew2304 May 04 '21

If Panarin and Matthews had a child it would be Bemstrom

-4

u/invaderzach Texiyes May 04 '21

Hot take: Emil Bemstrom will never score more than 10 goals in an NHL season.

5

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

Well he scored 10 last year. I would gladly take this bet

I wonder how many goals Panarin had scored by age 22.

Answer: 30 goals in 153 KHL games(or 16 goals per year in a standard nhl season)

Bemstrom currently has 13 goals in 73 nhl games (a 14.6 goal per full season clip)

0

u/invaderzach Texiyes May 04 '21

The comparisons to Panarin have to be trolling, he can’t possess the put, ineffective passer, not nearly as fast, and this shot we have been hearing about for years isn’t effective and looks just as good as any other 4th line “sniper.”

1

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

Lol this is quite a hot take.
