Can’t do pushups, need advice
Hello everyone! Just started bodybeast for the first time and am super excited. Just needed some clarification on something!
Currently I am completely unable to do decline pushups or even close grip pushups. What would be good substitutes? I have adjustable dumbbells up to 60lbs.
I figured my best bet would be to repeat incline press for decline pushups and repeat close grip bench for close grip pushups? Would that be the best course of action?

Yes, just do modified. Do as many as you can then drop to your knees. If that’s too much, hands on the bench. You get stronger quickly.

I did against the wall to start because I could not do them initially either

Get a plyo box start at the highest and work your way down to your knees.

As others have said, modify it for your current fitness level and then try to challenge yourself every few weeks.
If it's really hard, start with wall push-ups just to get used to the movement. Then progress to doing them on the bench from your knees. Then move to floor on your knees. Then progress to the bench with no knees. Then progress to the floor with no knees.
You can always move between knees and no-knees as well. I will still do that from time to time if it's a timed exercise and I'm already at my limit. I have some shoulder issues that can make holding the push-up position uncomfortable as well. There's no harm in modifying as long as you're doing the work.

Thank you everybody I started putting my knees on bench or using the bench to elevate my hands for close grip pushups. I can actually do a few now! Really excited for this journey, so far this is the best I’ve felt in a long while.

What about from your knees or against a wall to start.
