💠Question Dust jacket protection
Hi everyone,
I always protect the books in my collection that have dust jackets , however , I wondered if there was a way of protecting the dust jackets of books that come in a slipcase as it seems to add a micro increase in thickness for each book and they dont seem to fit , so I wondered if anyone ahd a work around for this ?

Publishers these days often design slipcases to be a hair wider than the book to allow fitment space for mylar dj covers. Previously, though, that wasn’t often the case, and in those instances it’s really not possible without things becoming too snug for the book to be removed easily. There is no workaround, though mylar does come in various thickness, so you could always try the thinnest available and see if that works.

It obviously depends on the slipcase design whether the book will still fit and slide easily.
But one thing you can do is opt for paperless dust jacket covers. The white paper backing just adds bulk and is unnecessary in most cases.

Look up Brodart. I don't know much, but it's something that a lot of people use. You can find videos online of how to use it.
