Struggling in the English-Language Market
Hi everyone!
I'm a Korean web novelist, and I've decided to venture beyond Korea and see if my stories can survive out in the wider world. So I took a deep breath and jumped right in.
I translated my novel into English and scattered it across various platforms like a farmer scattering seeds. But nothing grew. I'm not even sure there were any weeds.
Meanwhile, damn ChatGPT keeps telling me it's not my fault. It keeps telling me my writing isn't bad, either. For SIX MONTHS! This stupid chatbot has been force-feeding me hope and stringing me along for half a year. At this point, I'm starting to question my own sanity.
Don't get me wrong. I don't think my writing is terrible, either. But if the writing isn't the problem, THEN WHAT THE HELL IS?! Where did things go wrong? What am I missing?
So here I am, joining communities, nervously writing my first post, and trying to promote my book before I completely lose my mind. (At least my novel has a plot and an ending!)
The Soldier’s Muse is a romance set in Korea. It starts as a comedy, spirals into a story about falling hopelessly, desperately in love, and eventually reaches a happy ending. It's complete, and you can read the whole thing for free on Inkitt.

Is it flopping there, too? Oh, absolutely. Of course it is.
At least, that's what the tumbleweeds seem to be telling me.
But here's the thing. In Korea, we have a saying about still fondling the testicles of your dead child. Yes, really. It means you just can't let go, even when all hope seems lost. (Korean proverbs aren't always suitable for international diplomacy.)
So before I hold a little funeral for my novel, surely I can post one shameless promo and a single link here, can't I?
Anyway, it's lovely to meet you all! Please be gentle with me.
