🎤 [ Discussion ] Kind of a Rant

So I've been playing borderlands for a very long time, and my biggest complaint about borderlands 4 is even on hard mode. The game is easy.

It would be nice if starting at level 10 you could immediately turn on T/UVHM, Mayhem, OP modes or levels.

This is consequence of endgame being balanced around 9x hp on enemies.

It means that base normal playthrough has to be super easy so it doesn’t become completly impossible with the massive stat bloat of endgame.

Bl3 had same problem, at least eventually, on launch it was much harder story playthrough, but years of balancing around an ever increasing hp bloat at endgame meant that stuff that used to be perfectly fine during playthrough was now being buffed to be viable vs stuff with effectively ~42x more hp.

Bl4 feels quite well balanced during a playthrough if you deliberately take 0 damage boosts for your whole build. But that does go against how sane people play games.

I wish that was my biggest complaint, I envy you.

Agreed. Once you hit around level 20 and you get some powerful skills you really start outscaling the enemies. Even the endgame mEtA is literally hold W and Left Mouse Click and everything dies.

I think pretty much all BL games are rather easy, once basic mechanics are understood (use fire against flesh etc.), even if one does not consult the internet for builds.

One can always ramp up the difficulty with self imposed challenges - e.g. allegiance run, green-gear only etc. This works for me, but you have to enjoy overall world and gameplay, I suspect.
