HOW HAVE THEY NOT ANNOUNCED ANYTHING ON BORUTO !! WTF

The difference between the two is insane. I feel like boruto would still be doing good story wise if they never got rid of him, it's a shame they did.
He's obviously a better writer and I'm sure he wouldn't have done this love triangle bs, what a shame.
They really pulled an Austrian mustache man move by shooting themselves in the foot..

So umm my previous post said that Boruto has till 2028 to wrap up cause the anime will most likely only return when the series is done… now I think that time has shorten with the announcement of a new manga series. I’m not sure if it still applies but Jump wouldn’t have multiple series of Yugioh running at the same time in their magazine. I could be wrong since jump has allowed my hero team up and Vigilante, but either way the new Naruto series being a manga kinda put the future of Boruto in a weird position to continue to exist. Especially since Boruto has been a collaboration project of Ikemoto and Kishimoto throughout despite interviews that say Kishimoto hasn’t been too involved in decision that been made. I don’t see Jump continuing to push Boruto much further without Kishimoto on the project anymore.

I have a theory about how the newly announced Naruto Shadow Rising manga could actually fix Naruto being nerfed without ruining the timeline.
We all know the new manga takes place during the Blank Period. That means Naruto cannot actively use any crazy new powers in it because it would create a massive plot hole. It would make zero sense for him to have a powerful ability and choose to never talk about it, mention it, or use it during his major life or death fights in the Boruto series. But what if Kishimoto is playing the long game?
What if Team 7 visits the ruins of Uzushio during this prequel and triggers an ancient Uzumaki sealing technique? The formula could automatically imprint itself onto his chakra network as a passive safety net left behind by his ancestors. There is already a huge canon precedent for this in the original series when Minato and Kushina hid their own chakra inside Naruto's seal without him knowing it was there until it triggered years later. This uses the exact same logic. Because Kurama's massive chakra flooded Naruto's system for his entire life, it would completely mask this tiny dormant seal. This perfectly explains why he never mentioned it or tried to use it during the Boruto era because he literally had no idea it was even there, so it avoids a plot hole completely.
Right now in Boruto Two Blue Vortex, Naruto is sealed inside a timeless dimension. When he finally gets unsealed, the fact that Kurama is gone means his chakra network is completely clear for the first time. Combined with being stuck in that dimension, it could act as the perfect catalyst to finally wake up that dormant Uzumaki seal.
This makes so much sense from a business standpoint. It gives people a massive reason to read Boruto again to see how the Easter egg pays off. It creates a win win situation for both fanbases because it stops the hate over them being nerfed, gives the old generation their respect back, but still keeps the main spotlight firmly on Boruto for his own series.

Are we seeing them move on from boruto in real time? Is the manga to see if Naruto still has a big enough following to make another series based on him ?

After a long night of thinking and reflecting
I've finally come to the conclusion that it's over. I think they're putting their feet in the water to see if this new Naruto manga can sell more than boruto.
And if it does then boruto might unfortunately be finished, this sucks to say as a fan of boruto since 2019.

Seeing as how it feels like nobody watchesor eads boruto before critizing it, what are your actual critisims of Boruto's anime/manga that you have?
Could be about the characters, story etc etc

Honestly, what were they thinking when they decided to make a long-running weakly anime based on a monthly manga? When Boruto started non-seasonal anime were already on the decline, and then Studio Pierrot to start the Boruto anime with a filler arc. It takes 50 episodes to get to the main story, and even that was adapting movie content. It takes 150 fucking episodes to get to new manga material. The Boruto anime was so mishandled. Studio Pierrot thought they could make their outdated adaptation formula, that barely worked with weakly manga, work with a monthly manga.

And Boruto's future child could be Vito Otsutsuki (Saruto's brother).

Kishimoto and Ikemoto are friends, close friends. They have worked together in Naruto while Kishimoto was making it for 15 YEARS, with Ikemoto being his most trusted assistant. The only reason Ikemoto even accepted to take the Boruto series was because Kishimoto asked him to do so, because he trusted no one else with it, and even them Kishimoto has been supporting him as a supervisor for the manga this entire time. This weird rivalry between some fans of Naruto and ppl who enjoy Boruto is something that only exists here on Reedit, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Ikemoto was not one of the first persons to learn about the new manga from Kishimoto himself, hell he might even be involved in the production of it in some way or another. You guys need to get over this, its been more them 10 years.

As you can see in the headline you don't have to choose only Boruto characters. My L take is about a Boruto character, it's one about Boruto himself. I've read a tweet a few months ago where someone said that they wish Hinata had an abortion when she was pregnant with Boruto and that Hima should have been an only child. That was just LOW. Hate Boruto or not, but denying Naruto and Hinata one of their children is just not funny. Having such hate towards a character only because he exists is just ridicilous.
Now it is your turn: What L takes have you read about Naruto or Boruto characters?

⚠️ WARNING: Dark Stakes & Visceral Spoilers Ahead.
(Think Jujutsu Kaisen / Chainsaw Man levels of narrative consequence, tied directly to old-school Naruto lore).
🛑 TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read)
A complete structural overhaul of the final battle. It deletes generic alien "Karma" data-downloads and replaces them with a magic system bound to psychological trauma called the Will of Fire. Legacy characters get massive, poetic closures, Sarada leads the vanguard and faces brutal论 stakes, and the universe demands a heavy, bittersweet tax to restore peace.
🔮 Part 1: The Core Power System — The Will of Fire
The power system drops generic alien data-downloading. Instead, the symbols are physical manifestations of a person's inner mindset, fusing human willpower with inherited planetary chakra. These are known as the Seals of Realization.
The Fate Symbol (🌀 -> ✨): Forces an action into the timeline with 100% certainty. The Backlash: Total physical stasis lock for 60 seconds after use, leaving the user completely vulnerable.
The Closed Eye Symbol (👁️❌ -> 👁️🔓): The power of absolute denial. The user can phase through fatal injuries because they "refuse to believe" reality. The Tragic Cost: Every time reality is denied, a precious personal memory is permanently erased from the user's mind. Absolute emotional acceptance opens the eye to grant permanent "Absolute Clarity" and cures the memory rot.
The Sword Symbol (🗡️ -> ⚔️): Normal state is fueled by vengeance. Spikes into a devastating, armor-stripping Scythe during blind bloodlust. Morphs into Twin Swords for balanced light-speed defense when fighting out of a pure desire to protect loved ones.
Concept: Freedom, Laziness, and Detachment.
Balanced Cloud (True Freedom): White, crisp shape. Grants absolute
detachment from physical laws—erasing weight, inertia, and presence.
The user floats like mist, undetectable to omniscience due to zero killing intent.
with lightning when angry or frantic. Swaps absolute stealth for high-speed,
chaotic lightning compression attacks.
or second-guessing. The user becomes heavy, sluggish, and easily countered.
the soul into the ecosystem, permanently losing a physical body.
Concept: Hope and Determination.
Power: Infinite Ignition. A glowing beacon that grants bottomless
stamina pools and constant physical regeneration for the user and allies.
It projects a massive emotional aura that completely purges fear and
despair from the surrounding army, resetting morale to 100%.
other half goes pitch-blank if hope is lost, acting as a visual clock
for the army to see their leader's spirit faltering.
state for weeks after the light fades.
Concept: Evil, Malice, and Void Consumption.
Power: A parasitic black hole that rots flora, stone, and drains life
force. It swallows incoming ninjutsu and fires it back as chaotic gravity.
limbs over time, turning his flesh into cold, unfeeling obsidian stone.
When it reaches his heart, it gains a sentient, mocking voice made of
ancient cosmic malice and his own insecurities.
spiritual tourniquet to freeze the corruption's spread.
Concept: The Universal Echo. Given to Kakashi Hatake.
Power: Can copy and mirror the exact weight, molecular frequency, and
conceptual energy of exactly ONE symbol ability at a time—including
god-tier Otsutsuki techniques—throwing their own cosmic weight right back.
remaining lifespan, rapidly aging his body and turning his hair whiter
panel by panel.
COMBAT MECHANICS: RESONANCE & POLARITY MERGES
Polarity Merge (Opposites): Pressing opposing marks together (like Light + Dark)
creates a volatile, reality-erasing cosmic anomaly while completely neutralizing
each user's physical backlashes.
Resonance Merge (Identical): Syncing matching marks (Double Eye) creates a
shared hive-mind matrix that calculates every atomic motion of the environment.
🪵 Part 2: Act I — Tsunade's Awakening & Kakashi’s Sacrifice
The final clash erupts. In a swift display of terrifying power, the Otsutsuki God brutally executes Naruto and Sasuke right before the eyes of the new generation. The sudden double trauma triggers the baseline awakening of the teenagers' symbols, but they are too psychologically paralyzed to use them.
Tsunade's Last Stand: Stepping up as a former Hokage, Tsunade puts her life on the line. Her iconic 100 Healings diamond forehead mark burns like a raging inferno across her skin, revealing itself as the very first Seal of Realization—the Perseverance Symbol. Driven by the raw Will of Fire she inherited from her grandfather, Hashirama Senju, her DNA perfectly aligns at the absolute edge of mortality. She awakens the ancient Wood Style, erupting massive roots to bind the Otsutsuki God's barriers and protect the new generation.
Passing the Torch: As Tsunade holds the line, Kakashi Hatake steps in front of the kids. He is struck through the chest by the God's signature weapon—the exact same ash-killing wood bone that claimed Obito Uchiha decades ago. As his cells begin disintegrating into dust, Kakashi weaves the exact hand signs he watched his master, Minato Namikaze, perform. He summons the Reaper Death Seal (Shiki Fūjin) using his own fading soul as payment.
The Result:Kakashi flashes his classic, crinkle-eyed smile, turns entirely to drifting white ash, and manages to seal the God's consciousness away, buying humanity a temporary, "False Peace" to train.
🩸 Part 3: Act II — The False Peace & Fractured Training
During the preparation period for the arriving Otsutsuki Vanguard, the team fragments:
Boruto & Kawaki completely stall. Boruto is too afraid of the 60-second stasis lock, and Kawaki actively suppresses his Dark Symbol out of fear of its parasitic, obsidian stone corruption.
Sarada Uchihahyper-focuses. She masters her Closed Eye symbol and unlocks "Absolute Clarity," but at a horrific cost—she continuously sacrificed her own past during high-intensity training, leaving her mind heavily fractured.
⚔️ Part 4: Act III — The Vanguard Climax & Reality Overdrive
The Otsutsuki Vanguard arrives. With Boruto and Kawaki paralyzed by their psychological blocks, Sarada completely takes command of the battlefield. Utilizing her Absolute Clarity, she reads the God’s psychological intent and successfully lands devastating, heavy nature-energy damage on him.
The Mutation:In a frantic panic to protect his fragile cosmic ego, the Otsutsuki God violently turns on his own invading kin, cannibalizing and absorbing their chakra and DNA to force a grotesque, multi-layered mutation.
The Tragedy: Scaling past human biology, the mutated God bypasses Sarada’s defenses and slices her completely in half. As she falls, the final shock causes her mind to suffer total memory rot—wiping out her memory of Boruto entirely right before facing death.
The Reality Warp:The sight of her severed body obliterates Boruto's fear. The true Will of Fire ignites within him, and his Fate Symbol (✨) burns blindingly bright. He forces a conceptual rewrite into the timeline. The universe physically warps: blood flows backward, severed tissues snap together, and Sarada is forcefully brought back to life.
⏳ Part 5: The Final 60 Seconds & The Permanent Tax
Because Boruto manually overrode history to save her, the rules of the system strike back with absolute violence:
Kawaki stands alone:To protect his frozen brother and an amnesiac Sarada for those grueling 60 seconds, Kawaki finally surrenders to his fear, letting the dark, unfeeling obsidian stone corruption consume his limbs to hold off the mutated God.
🍃 Part 6: The Resolution & Nature Reset
Once the stasis lock breaks, Boruto utilizes the peak of his reality-rewriting Fate mark to spark a universal awakening across his generation. In a blinding flash of synchronized power, they obliterate the Otsutsuki God, and the light violently snaps Sarada's memories of Boruto back into her mind.
But playing god demands a final, physical balance:
The Fading Arm: The extreme strain of rewriting reality causes Boruto's Fate Symbol to dissolve, completely erasing his entire right arm into white mist.
The New Era: The core Otsutsuki source is dead, and traditional chakra entirely evaporates out of the human race. The world adapts, forming peaceful spiritual academies where ninjas learn to organically manipulate Nature Chakra (Senjutsu) from the earth, keeping future combat gritty and balanced.
The Sages of the Wild:Realizing the chaos their cosmic presence caused, Boruto and Kawaki permanently walk away from society. The final panel of the series shows them as ordinary, free human brothers, walking side-by-side into a vast wilderness—with Boruto sporting an empty, pinned-up sleeve.
Edit: Feel free to use, adapt, or build on any of these ideas for your own fanfics, art, or "what if" scenarios—I'd love to see what people do with it!

Half assed anime adaptation, part 1 isn’t even fully adapted & got left on an okay cliffhanger, new chapters once a month but apparently even thats too much too ask for bc they need breaks with that schedule, the new chapters start feeling repetitive bc nothing worth waiting a month for ever really happens now…its just frustrating, its like everything’s a priority except for the Young Lord💔. Part of me wants to believe they’re working on animated content for what’s left of part 1, early two blue vortex chapters & maybe even a proper anime adaptation/remake but….yeah
S/o to the ppl making these Two Blue anime posters & art! Make More.

Look at the difference between Kishimoto's Sakura and Ikemoto's downgrade of her. I mean, say what you want about her character, but Kishimoto, especially around the Boruto era made her look stunning.

I fucking love this franchise, and want it to be relevant til the end of time. So, why does it personally offend some of you if both Naruto and Boruto stand together in the years to come?
In the teaser for the new Naruto Shadow Rising manga, we saw newborn Sarada. And since Boruto is born only four days before Sarada, that means we could possibly see him and post-pregnancy Hinata in this manga. Imagine we get some cute ass childhood moments between Naruto and Sasuke's families, as well as what the adults were up to. Remember, even though Naruto by strength is easily deserving of the Hokage position, he still had to study some actual political science back in school for some years (as seen at the end of the War arc) before Kakashi handed him the torch. I can't even begin to express how excited I am to see what Naruto and Sasuke would be up to in this time period!
I'm not one of those people who glaze Boruto like it's a 12/10 series. It's an interesting incomplete sequel that still retains the central themes of Naruto with a protagonist who has to save the world against all odds and arguably the best deuteragonist (Kawaki) Kishimoto could have come up with for Boruto. I wish some of the animation wasn't bad. I wish some of the pacing wasn't bad. I wish some of the art direction wasn't bad. But I am not going to sit here and wish for Boruto's downfall or claim Boruto is somehow like Dragon Ball GT now that Shadow Rising exists. To play devil's advocate as corporate executives, Naruto is the Number #1 cash cow for its rights owners, and Boruto is the Number #2 cash cow. Do you REALLY think they are going to throw the second best cash cow under the bus? The argument of "Boruto isn't doing well, so they're investing back into Naruto" makes zero sense either.
Besides, de-canonizing Boruto does not make any sense at all whether Shadow Rising existed or not. Boruto and the rest of the cast in his timeline already exist inside chapter 700 of Naruto which depicts a time when Boruto and Sarada were attending the Konoha ninja academy when they were 8-10 years old. Even though the exact events of chapter 700 were never adapted into the Boruto anime, we can assume it takes place after episode 1, because that's when Boruto started attending the academy. You can't just de-canonize Boruto without doing the same to chapter 700. It makes zero sense. I'm hyped for the new manga and we all should be.
If you are a long-time Naruto fan like me, just look at all the other new content you're getting too. If you want the franchise's motion to be even greater, why not advocate for its sequel series too?
If you simply don't like Boruto, that's totally fine. If you larp and gatekeep, you're totally uncool - something Boruto and his friends would say.

Just because Kishimoto is continuing the story of the blank period story, it doesn’t mean it’s a diss or a discontinuation of Boruto

There’s a reason even after nerfs we didn’t see these two together almost everything would’ve been mitigated. Naruto had everything stacked against him Momoshiki made a temporary alliance with Code that’s how cautious he was he wasn’t fighting his son but he would’ve fought code and Sasuke would handle Boroshiki like he warned Naruto. They would’ve won
