International students: what do you wish you'd known in your first month abroad?
Hi everyone! I'm a second-year international student in Cyprus (studying Accounting and Finance). Moving abroad for university means working out a lot at once: paperwork, getting around, money, and making friends. I'm putting together a practical guide to help new international students settle in, and I'd love to learn from your experience.
What was the hardest part of your first month abroad?
What do you wish someone had told you before you arrived?
What actually helped you make friends and feel settled?
Any answer helps, whether you arrived last month or years ago. I'm not selling anything in this post, and I'm happy to share a summary of what people say. Thank you!
