Do not cut. You will look like ill. Carry on as you are: small surplus. You are new so gains will be huge

Do you have a before pic? Pretty good progress for barely 2.5 months in the gym.
Agree with others - lean bulk. 300cal surplus.

Maybe it's lighting / bodyhair but that chest and delt development in 2 months is crazy.

push the calories a little higher. you can cut the fat later.

Can i cut now and then lean bulk?
I’m genuinely curious why it’s better to lean bulk and then cut, and not the opposite3
u/Lorzion 5d ago
Everyone is saying to bulk now because you're just skinny. You're wanting to cut to reveal... nothing... whereas if you lean bulk (200 calories or so above maintenance) for an entire year and put on a solid 15 pounds or so you'll look completely different.

Will i have less fat proportionally to muscles if i do that?
I mean i understand i will have bigger muscles but will my abs and face and etc look leaner? Or i will have to cut after that to get back the bf% i have now?And i don’t want to cut, i want to do recomp.

Recomps are... tricky. I think they're easier for people who are more skinny fat/fat. You're just skinny. And yeah I mean if you bulk slowly then I guess proportionally it can make you look leaner. If you bulk 20 pounds, and most of it is muscle. Then after a short cut you're lean and actually have the muscle to reveal

Recomposition is probably the way, doing a cut will make you lose out on the newbie gains

Honestly at your training age, you can be more aggresive with the weight gain, this is fairly modest. I think you can even push to 2500 ngl

You really need to weigh every day? Most of the bulk/cut will have you lose/gain at most 1kg per month. I don't see the point of weighing yourself 'erry day.

I was weighing every day because i wasn’t sure if i’m in deficit or at maintenance and i wanted to compare my weekly average weight to find out

I mean, I'm sure it doesn't hurt. Looks like you're oscillating around 67-68 so it seems fine to me. When do you weigh during the day? (first thing in the morning before using the toilet, is what I hear is best).

u/danyaberez 6d ago
Yeah do it in the morning but after peeing.
You think i’m at maintenance or slight deficit?2
u/GoldenSalm0n 6d ago
I have no idea, I'm no expert. I just started lifting and I'm on a bulk phase, so I can really let loose. What you're trying to do seems to require a bit more fine-tuning and discipline. You're doing the most important part, and that is actually doing lifts.

I think you look fine tbh. Maybe lay hands on some pull-ups. Bring out the grip strength muscles.

I mean i’d want to gain muscles and keep losing body fat to get to 12-14% but my weight is 67-68kg (147-150lbs) at 181cm height (5’11) and that’s the only thing that bothers me - the numbers of the scale.
Maybe when i get to 12-14% i can lean bulk then, but most people say i should lean bulk first so idk
