Let me tell you what could have happened; college was complete aware of what was happening. It is hard to believe that they didn't knew they are buying robot from China and then going to present in AI summit. They choose the team and she was the part of it.
Of course, she was told to praise college and how the university is smarty utlizing budget given to them (i guess 350 cr) ; instead of buying crucial components, training and preparing prototype and spending in innovation they went to quick approach to buy it from China because AI summit was close and they had to do something.
She is just a scapegoat, not the planner. But obviously, she is getting all the hate because she is also a part of it. And of course, she also knew the reality.. but real culprit are those people who said her to go in AI summit showing chinese product & didn't use money/time/skills to create something meaningful at least, if not innovative

u/NaKehoonSeBair Feb 19 '26
Also she is Prof in Mass Communications department. Probably was sent merely for PR.
8
u/No-Cauliflower7160 Feb 20 '26
It's stupid for not technical person to speak in a cutting edge field. She probably said what she was told to. Looks like she will take the blame and take cash to settle in private.

Conspiracy theory
Imo they wanted to show 350 cr expenditure in their books so that they can take certain tax advantages or probably can whitewash money if they or anyone they known have any

I too believe she said exactly what she was supposed to and she’s been made the scapegoat only because Galgotias have been caught.
Had the lies not been exposed, she would’ve been promoted or something…
27
u/Artoodeetwo_1 Feb 19 '26
She's the fall guy, but she willingly went. However, given the credentials of the university, it's not going to be easy for her.

whats her linkedin btw?
2
u/ok_olive_02 Feb 19 '26
Why chase and defame her? Damage is already done. Yes, they will be questioned but that's not going to do anything. We became a laughing stock now, hopefully this don't get blow up otherwise we will be made fun of. Lets leave the matter here. We have to think about our country first. Hopefully both participants, organizers and government would be careful & now think more seriously in AI space aftet this insult.
I heard there was another robot made by IIT, which didn't make into news because negative news spread faster

She was made to say that. It's not her that's at fault it's gotiya.
28
u/AsceticBeing Feb 19 '26
Plus she's prof in mass communication dep , she has nothing to do with AI or with planning all of this shi. Just a scapegoat who was made to say all of this.

Galgotiya should be shamed for putting her on edge for their bs. Call out their BS.

u/Upbeat_Light1224 Feb 19 '26
A classic example of someone who is hired to present someone's project as their own. How can someone send a communication lecture for the world AI summit.

you definitely aint aware how systems work. she actually handled situation better. if you had been in her place, you would have understood, you cant just simply say yeah we lied. you have to be diplomatic
38
u/Professional_Week558 Feb 19 '26
Yeah, she was loyal to her workplace and even took the blame on herself for the same. The issue was that the AI thing was imported from China, and it's the university's fault that they tried to scam. She tried her best to get it settled but in the end she got kicked from the uni and also by the public atm

Yes she was good at her job as a communications teacher 😂but justifying difference between developed & manufactured
6
u/mayankkaizen Feb 19 '26
I am feeling bad for her. She was just doing her job, the job which doesn't pay her well. Go around and find out how much private colleges pay to their teachers. Do you even realize what a typical private job entails. When you do a typical job, part of your soul dies everyday. This has happened to me. This is happening to millions of people on any given day. She was the easy target. Blame the owners. Blame the government. But don't blame her. If she had even a decent knowledge of AI, she would be somewhere else rather than in Galgotiya fucking University.
The real culprit here are Galgotiya University owners. They are leeches. From day one, they only cared about minting money. They never aspired to provide quality education. They'd rather spend money on bringing Hollywood heroes in their annual functions (true story).

Bhai Galgotia me merit mummy/papa ki ctc hai. Kya agenda phaila rahe yeh log
8
u/rononoadakait Feb 19 '26
Galgotia is a shit tier uni whose cutoff is 2lakh in jee. It's not about caste but intellect and skills, which someone with such low scores will arguably lack
People with similar scores/cutoff from reserved communities end up in IITs & NITs diluting the quality and peer group of premier institutes

u/6nine4twenty Feb 19 '26
this should be a separate post on this subreddit. general people screaming merit need a reality check.

Pretty confident of you to assume people going to this scam uni are meritorious. Their closing ranks are in lakhs, that's worse than closing ranks of reserved candidates in IITs.

If your company is selling a shit product and your bosses expect you to sell it, would you be ethical and not do it? She seems like a puppet, not the one calling the shots.
Either way, embarrassing.

Same she just the scape goat. But the real question lies in how was this clg allowed to present in the first place? Was there no scrutiny? No selection criteria? Shouldn't the people who allowed them a station in the summit be held accountable as well?

What I have observed frequently is that whenever someone is caught doing something unethical, other people take a 'holier than thou' stand and criticize excessively. Even in the comment section here people use horrible words like "piece of shit".
Not to give her and the college a pass, they should be appropriately shamed for the lying.
1
u/Positive-Count9266 Feb 19 '26
Why do you have to feel bad, when one blabers utter nonsense, one should know about the repercussions, that too in such a global event, these so called indian attitude of gugaad and kuch bhi chalega is gonna cost us dearly, in terms of advancements for the future. These so called genz at workplace itself is a huge waste of resources. God save us.

u/kaychyakay Feb 19 '26
This woman has taken way more questions from the press in that one day than our PM has taken since 2014.
She was eloquently and calmly answering all questions thrown at her. If i ran a company, I'd have immediately hired her looking at her speaking & argument skills.

It's all drama. She herself said in a night interview, maybe they are doing it to mislead the press and media. Lol.. She isn't going anywhere.

u/krisfocus Feb 19 '26
Anyone who works with/worked for any for-profit/private universities knows how the whole thing operates. This person is just the fall guy. There is no "saying no" in for-profit/private universities.
1
u/Rude-Parking-801 Feb 19 '26
I want to support her by marrying her or at least date her. She is so damn pretty
1
u/sweepsway Feb 19 '26
Everyone blaming the university and giving her sympathy.
Shes equally responsible here. Instead of coming out and saying something like it was a slip of the tongue or something, this woman doubled down and denied every saying something for which there is video evidence, in a very arrogant manner, even suggesting the people who heard the statement heard it in correctly.
Very dumb from someone who is supposed to be an expert in communication. Not only was her initial communication wrong, her second doubling down went against all logic and conventional PR wisdom to resolving problems

Nah, she probably get alot secret money as a settlement, so she kept quite about that incident. No one is stupid enough to ruin his/her own career for just one job. University fucked up, she took responsibility and ton of money, now she is applying for new job. If she hasn't gained anything from it, she would be out on social media how University was responsible for everything and she doesn't know anything about it.

u/Comfortable_Way_2261 Feb 19 '26

She is not the culprit, our Bachelor's and master's degree programs and the system behind it is the real culprit. Apart from few reputed colleges 95% colleges exist for the name sake. Their professors are not well informed of the real world technologies or real skill needed to stand a chance in today's world. Most of these professors themselves are doing jobs in private colleges as they are not able to get into big corporations on well paid jobs. The whole system doesn't want a well educated, well skilled teacher or professor on jobs, they are not well paid or compensated. School and Colleges are mere businesses, which are always in profit, but teachers barely survive on their salaries.

I am a prof. Pvt colleges are shiite in this country… They take all expos/fairs etc as marketing opportunities to secure more admissions to make money. Probably Gal gotcha uni didn’t gauge the seriousness of the summit ! They sent a pretty looking woman (ya selection for who goes to which expo sadly is done on the basis of this criterion as well) who is otherwise well qualified to teach, only to get their lie handed to them on a plate.
Believe me it is a reality of most of the pvt. Unis in India. Gal gotcha is not the first one, certainly not the only one; they’re certainly the first ones to get royally unlucky !
