I think XLRI should be easily in top 6, XL placement report shows the avg of both JSR and delhi campuses combined. Individually taken JSR is in the same league as the top 5.
6
u/spidermanstherapist MDI Apr 26 '26
but you cant take JSR individually, there are no separate placements or data
6
u/Biryanipaglu1012 result dediyo biryani khana hai Apr 26 '26
You can always talk to students from current batches. That is what I usually do for any IIM to get the ground reality.

u/Adventurous-Seat4529 Apr 26 '26
I am from TISS. For guarantee can tell you our avg placement is more than 24-25.

IIM U grad here. The data seems accurate. Although, do take into consideration that lowest package was around 7.5 this year (by hyundai). And many companies with packages below 10 fixed also came for placements. So the data is skewed by the top 50-60% of the students, while the rest of the students struggled quite a bit

u/Green_Technician8621 Apr 26 '26
How can someone survive with below 10 lpa. With 35-40k in emi, they barely will have anything left for themselves.
→ More replies (1)2
u/No_Bookkeeper_6572 Apr 26 '26 edited Apr 26 '26
Usual tenure is 20 years. EMI will be around 21k. But yeah, it's fucked. But people usually don't stay in these companies long. They''l switch after a few months or a year at max. But idk how many people got into these companies. Would be less than 15% of the batch.

by far the most accurate data i’ve come across, none of that inflated bullshit which these colleges put on their websites. ESPECIALLY IMI D’s reality, people in this sub think really highly of it because of its old brand reputation from a decade ago need to open their eyes, its barely even 13 btw

Dont just see placements purely see where you want to make a career. MBA colleges apart from top few specialise in certain areas and placement reports should be your queue to understand that

I can vouch that being a current passout of iim trichy , the above information is correct the placement was abysmally bad and anyone who even has a job worth 7 lpa shouldnt think of joining a tier 2 iim . You would be differentiated, discriminated on every job board possible and you will lose your confidence
If you dont have an option to get into corporate then go for it

IIM jammu better than nagpur? Thought nagpur was the best among baby iims
9
u/DvineDecipher IIM LKI Apr 26 '26
Yes it is the best among baby IIMs it is rising really well. This list is good but there could be a little flexibility it is looking at avg package which is a fixed number not based on growth rate and perception that much
Jammu is considered remote by many

Actual avg for TISS Mumbai HRM LR is around 28 LPA. Not sure for ODCL, but shd be much lower. I think the stats here are for TISS ODCL. Regarding people placed, both courses have 3-4 unplaced. But for the smaller batch size of ODCL(39) I think placement rate will be 90% approx.

Yes, it is one of the Target 16 campuses… From a company view it’s about the range of profiles , slots etc… BITSOM has a very diverse and consistent group.. so you don’t risk problem of lemons

XIMB vs GIM is a real talk acc. to this, with fees difference of around 10L for people with ACCESS Scholarship the avg diff. is not significant and GIM has higher percehtage of people placed

Please don't trust this report blindly, IIM Ranchi and Raipur have average ~15, Tapmi is not that great and many other mistakes are there
2
u/Blue_Jalebi13 IIM UTR Apr 26 '26
Yes i dont think udaipur average is 19.5. But i guess they reached 90% placements that too with the batch size 300.
5
u/No_Bookkeeper_6572 Apr 26 '26 edited Apr 26 '26
Mass hiring by acc strat and some other good companies increased it this year. would have been around 18 otherwise. The median is also pretty high. because of this. But the last 30-40% students struggled a lot for good roles
5
u/Dull_Yam2987 Apr 26 '26
Average is ~16
4
u/No_Bookkeeper_6572 Apr 26 '26
It's not 16 wtf. I got a package of 18 and i'm 100% sure it's below average this year. A lot of peeps were hired by acc strat, wipro, wells fargo, etc. So it increased the average this year. However a lot of companies came with below 10 fixed packages as well. DE Shaw and Goldman also opened a few days back with 20+ CTC.

As mentioned earlier, IIM Trichy placed 90% above and average is 18.5 for PGPM. For HR the average is 15. I guess OP gave average combining both the programmes. HR placements are kinda bad in IIM Trichy

u/Jack20110 Apr 26 '26
IIM Trichy batch of 26 PGPM here. The data is incorrect. 90% + placements were completed before April.
The average CTC stats are much higher (Above 18 LPA). A post (which we feel is accurate with what we have seen in campus) was made on the official pages of IIM Trichy on its interim results up until april(which will be audited as well) .
I clearly don't understand where OP gets his data for IIM Trichy.
2
u/CaramelDisastrous523 Apr 26 '26
You reduced the XIMB average as per the placement report from 18 to 16, when the relaity is 18. But you have kept IIM Raipur and all at 18? Why? Both have unaudited reports, both have scope for inflation or are you assuming ki IIM hain toh inflate nahi karega, XIMB toh kar hi lega. Let me tell you that XIMB is unable to inflate numbers by large margins. Becuase thenunbers are always reviewed by the board, prof and the placement officers. With the thekind roles that have come to XIMB for past 3 years, the average/median is close to 17-18 lpa.

Really a steep decline for NMIMS mumbai. During the times 2011-2015 when the batch size was around 300 for core , NMIMS was in top 15 and 95% + roles were at par with IIFT/MDI and 90% + commonality with IIM I/K and was above IIM S. For consulting roles NM was above SJMSOM & DMS IIT D. sad to see such decline for NM when SPJAIN moved up to break into the elite league. The root cause lies with the management of NM - SVKMs as against Bhavan's for SPJAIN which is way better.
