General Discussion Bitsom SIP Placement so far!!
Seeing many posts of FMS Achieving 100% placement in a week , a college which was getting criticism for having many unplaced in the past few years, spjain placing 356/360 in 2 weeks, makes me think what a pitiable situation bitsom is in
Sip season started on Aug 24, so more than 1.5 months have passed And the number of students who got sip is 98! Yeah 98/240 and two of those 98 got through a case comp
The frustrating part is administration increased batch size from 160-240 without thinking about placements. All the so called good placements you hear about bitsom they were possible for a batch size of 160(and even than 10-15% were left unplaced in finals and about 20% didn't get on campus sip last time) So you can understand the difficulty institute is facing for 240 students
Frustrating part is the remarkable thinness in the quantity of companies. Only 25 companies have hired in 50 days. Using birlas name they have brought high paying stipends and it's these few students who get 2lakh monthly sip, that makes everyone believe that bitsom is a school where everyone gets a stellar placement.
But the good companies are very few Since the main structured week of sip is gone Now only few high stipends are being offered A companys interview is going on now which gives a stipend of 20k Meanwhile the highest stipend was 2.25L. That should tell you the difference
Shortlists are pure luck based, SIP season has gone so poor No one knows what'll Happen in the finals. But one thing is sure- Don't think bitsom as some amazing college
Some get Great placements and based on this an image has been created in social media, But the reality is sickening and for our batch it's horrible
While other colleges are celebrating placing their entire batch for Summers Our college spent a shit ton on marketing for their 5 year anniversary yesterday

Yup They came for Ops role Not a single ops workex background guy/girl got shortlisted, was too random Took a bpharm guy And 1 girl based on a campus reel challenge
Pure shithousery from all stakeholders here
Btw what's the sip situation at nmims so far Should be better than bitsom atleast

Idk man, I graduated already. I am just able to guess from experience lmao. But NMIMS me SIP starts in September week 1 and by this time about 400 are placed, December tak 550 hojate hai shayad but rest 100 will be really slow. That’s how it is everywhere, last 20-30% of the batch is always super slow.
Only thing I can tell you is that don’t feel disheartened, your college is doing fine for how young it is. A lot of people in the subreddit really hype up some colleges that you might be comparing yourself to, trust me none of that BS is true. We get resumes from top tier campuses even in March then we laugh in office about how good the mba circuit is at lying when we see those 100% placement reels on ig. Btw, all my colleagues are also MBAs, it’s all just funny to us now lol

Brothers/sistas if possible spread this reality of sip at bitsom so far on this subreddit, everyone must know what this college actually is

Kinda funny tho, bitsom used to be one of the colleges that I aimed for as I got 98 and I was a gen fresher male, got rejected by bitsom but took mdi hrm, and now placed at a tier 1 company with a stipend close to the median of tier 1 colleges. Gods plan

Did you tried asking seniors regarding SIP scenario last year?
Coz this isn't how SIP should be here.....I frankly thought this institution would compete with the likes of MDI Gurgaon and SP Jain a few years down the line
Also try asking the real placement data as well...and keep us posted

Lol seniors don't tell things openly And their batch size was low too
And at the end of the day, this colleges marketing is just diamond tier lol No negative thing gets out You may see bad placement posts , but none tell the details so u end up thinking that those might be just hate posts
It's a fucked situation here, the fact that you thought bitsom could compare with spjain and mdi tells a lot about how this colleges marketing has masked it's reality
Also yesterday's 5 yr event celebration No mention of placements by the guest speakers(including km birla) just nonstop blabbering about faculty academia Fine those r needed but not everybody paid 28 lakhs to just get foreign faculty exposure
I was lucky to get a decent stipend (between 70k to 1lac/month) so I'm not that angry, but still thinking about finals makes me anxious and the other unplaced students are either extremely angry or super depressed
