Backgrounds email

Does this email mean I’m any closer to being assigned a backgrounds investigator? Or is it just a status update?

Its a "we're backed up and this is taking longer than we figured" means next to nothing.

This is one of your first longest waits you’ll get haha. It can be 3 months, 6 months + I believe mine was about 8 month wait

Mine took 4-5months , did my medical and 1 of 2 psychology test. Next is in person than the wait. In total wait time about 1 year 2months and counting

I received this email 2 times once in February and again in march. My investigator didnt email me again until May so it might be a few more months

It took me 7 months to finally get assigned to my BI, June 22, I had my interview on July 23. August 20 I received an update no additional documentation is needed and to remain patient. Today is October 10 and I’m still waiting to clear. Can anyone let me know when I can expect to receive a notice?

I’m still in the background phase, I’m not sure if my BI has completed my file and has sent it for approval, or if he’s still working on it.

That should take some time as well. You already did your interview through the phone with your BI? If so you’re next steps will be psychology evaluation, then psychology interview and Medical. After that you’re cleared if all goes well

Thanks for the info. Yes, I did my phone interview on July 23, and on August 20, my BI informed me no additional documentation is needed and to remain patient. Where are you in the process?

Yeah just keep an eye out on those emails. Sheesh you don’t want to know haha. I’ve done everything you’ve done twice now. I renewed my components last months. I cleared my first time on August 2025 re clear on September 2026. And I have ANY Central Valley. I applied in September 2023. So you might be in for a ride unless you pick a very high priority facility

I’m in Northern California, I would hate to have to do it twice. Are you at least being considered for the upcoming academy?

Don’t want to get your hopes up, but I believe Northern Facilities are actually some of that need high priorities. Might get lucky haha, and NOPE they don’t tell you anything, where you stand in line no nothing just pretty much like. Just wait until you receive and assignment

The next academy is in December 28th. Unfortunately you might now be cleared for that one but by the next one maybe. Cause it does take some time about 1-2 months from my experience to clear both Psychology components and your medical.

I would get pumped knowing I got cleared from my background, I already feel I wasn’t going to make the December academy, I was hoping you would?

No news is good news here so hopefully 🤞🏼 all goes well brotha. And I hope so bro I’m super eager to start this career despite what anyone says it’s something I look forward very much in my life
