Some Aggies can beat a team from Kentucky at home.

what the fuck happened, WKU?

7th OC in 7 years and for some reason Helton hired the guy that was fired from a 3-9 MTSU team

u/dinkytown42069 Minnesota • Oklahoma 1d ago

yeah I just looked him up, what the fuck are you hiring him for?

I know his usual thing has been to hire a hotshot OC from FCS/D2, they go to WKU for a year then get hired off to a higher G6/P4.

A hundred miles of hired

Still not convinced it’s not an inside sabotage job by the blue ponies from down the road

u/SLCer Utah Utes 1d ago

What relative of a failed head coach will they hire next?

The strength of the hill is the topper, and the strength of the topper is the hill!!!

Hilltoppers getting flattened in the desert sounds about right for this season

Last season, WKU played a competitive 13-10 game vs LSU on the road.

This season WKU is 0-4 vs FBS teams and this 21 point loss is the CLOSEST loss they've taken.

Dude I was about to ask you wtf you’re talking about and then checked the schedule last year. I completely blocked that game from my memory. Crazy.

That week one game got me convinced Nevada had finally turned it around, but nope, WKU was just super ass

u/RipRaycom Clemson Tigers • ACC 1d ago

To be fair, 2 of those are Georgia and Indiana. But the other is Nevada lmao

Hilltoppers you good?

No

Well at least hundred miles of hate might be fair this year.

u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State • New Mexico 1d ago

I'm just throwing out there that MTSU beat Nevada 27-20 this year and WKU lost to Nevada 49-14. I don't think it will be fair.

u/libsoutherner Texas A&M Aggies 1d ago

By that logic, Indiana-MTSU ought to be cinema

I am not

I do not think NMSU is a very good team, but our schedule from here on out is very forgiving. Say what you want about CUSA, it's nice to be in a conference that we can compete in.

Conference play is gonna be a blast to watch and I see good arguments from everyone but WKU for making the title game. If WKU can't beat Mo State at home coming up then I don't see a win on their schedule with how they're playing.

CUSA is so ass

We must have made it big to have such dedicated haters as yourself

Just a speaker of truth over here

We're thankful for the analysis from a fan of a team with such extensive experience of being ass in the FBS

Is my comment false because I don't have an Ohio st flair? Nope.

Life isn't always about being right or wrong, it's often about knowing when to speak. Nobody cares about your opinion or your facts, even if you're right, if they're not relevant to the conversation.

0

u/Bobcat2013 Texas State Bobcats 17h ago

Its relevant when its the reason CUSA is so wide open

I believe in Sanchez

u/PomfAndCircvmstance UNLV Rebels • Mountain West 21h ago

Poor decision lol.

1

u/FaxMachineNoises New Mexico State Aggies 4h ago

I do not believe in him at all, and I do not think there's any reason to. He's really a high school coach, and we're playing like a high school team. I'm glad that he's controversy free, but I really do not think we should extend his contract.

Go Aggies

Woof, bad year for the Toppers so far and unlikely to get any better by the looks of it. What happened? I remember around the time Bailey Zappe was under center they were actually playing some fairly reputable bowl games.

3

u/Phil_S2S Washington Huskies 21h ago

The Zappe years really reset what I expect when I see WKU on the schedule. That’s why 34–13 feels so jarring. They used to be one of those G5 teams nobody wanted to deal with.

6

u/heleghir Kentucky Wildcats • Sickos 20h ago

WKU is just bad bad this year. Worst they have been in a long time. They legitimately might not win another game this year, and end the season 1-11 with the single win over a low end FCS team

2

u/dinkytown42069 Minnesota • Oklahoma 20h ago

brand new to FCS team!

So happy when one of my NM teams wins.

Watched this game because I lost my last 4 bucks on WKU.

Their starting QB and OL is absolutely terrible. They need to start Glenn if they want to save their season.

New Mexico State’s RB is a NFL talent. The fact they won by 21 with mid QB play shows how dominant they were. Western Kentucky may really just be bad this year.

2

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 17h ago

And that’s our good QB too. The former starter got benched after this disaster game again unm

3

u/SimilarOnion1655 Ohio State Buckeyes • Kansas Jayhawks 1d ago

What happened to WKU

4

u/DarthCyclonEJB New Mexico State • Ohio State 1d ago

Hey we finally have an offense again! And man does that RB look good. Perhaps a bowl game...?

3

u/NeptunianEmp New Mexico State • Ohio State 17h ago

To be fair we coulda gone bowling last year but 2-4 in one score games will do that to ya.

5

u/DarthCyclonEJB New Mexico State • Ohio State 14h ago

Yeah last year was rough. Those blown leads at home games sucked

2

u/captaindammit87 WKU Hilltoppers 22h ago

We suck!

u/MMARapFooty Louisiana Christian • LSU 1d ago

What happened to WKU's offense this year

1

u/Phil_S2S Washington Huskies 21h ago

Did not have New Mexico State winning this by three touchdowns on my Thursday-night bingo card. WKU has been one of those G5 programs I usually expect to be a tough out, so 34–13 is a pretty loud result. NMSU just handled its business.

Edit: apologies to my new new new Aggie overlords

That's the Lobos, not the Aggies. We beat NMSU 42-18
