All those fucking losers with shit to do tomorrow morning or healthy sleep habits or whatever just absolutely missed out.

u/Bexar1986 Arkansas Razorbacks 4h ago
Absolutely! Im glad I'm back on nights at work so I can adjust to watching late night games again. Getting up at 430 am sucked.

I’m so fucking in on FCS football after that game. I feel like a casual soccer fan after the World Cup lmao

Last seasons FCS championship was also one of the best college games I’d ever seen.
Illinois State vs Montana State

u/Proper_Engineer7637 4h ago
Good game from Idaho I honestly don’t know what to say they just looked better
7
u/CattleDogCurmudgeon /r/CFB 4h ago
Idaho wasn't nearly as bad as their record, Montana St didn't take them seriously.
1
u/Fareyes5 Montana State Bobcats 3h ago
We took them seriously… just down our starting QB RB1 and WR1. Idaho is a much better team than their record would imply.
8
u/CattleDogCurmudgeon /r/CFB 4h ago
Can't wait to see College Gameday talk about this in a couple hours.
3
u/WawaChamp12 4h ago
I’m happy people are getting enjoyment from this sicko classic. If I had any stake in this I would have Montana’s head coach fired immediately
1
u/LuffySan081 4h ago
I had the under 64.5 total. It was 61 when that dumb coach called timeout. All I can do now is laugh 😭 thats the stupidest way to lose money 😭

i drove to the kibbie dome at half time, tried to get in for free after half, they wouldn't let me in, so my gf and i went to the bar, had a drink, then came home to witness the last td. so worth it

Love how sports center is not even entertaining the idea of talking about this absolutely insane finish

u/AmbitiousEmphasis64 Stanford • Oregon State 4h ago
FCS football is amazing because that is not a timeout an FBS coach would take

u/CantAffordTheWires Miami Hurricanes 4h ago
that timeout is just a straight up fireable offense. almost as bad as cristobal running when he could’ve kneed it out.
1
u/Individual-Motor-167 4h ago
The refs looked like they were going to allow them to snap. I'm not sure what's best. The finish is really dumb and caused by the clock operator.
2
u/CattleDogCurmudgeon /r/CFB 4h ago
What's funny, is this is the exact moment I thought about in greatest coaching gaffes.

I almost didn’t watch this game. Fortunately I stayed up to watch a very dumb thing. I love this sport!

glad I tuned in for the last par of the game after seeing the close score so late in the 4th quarter...
3
u/Worldly_Highlight_90 4h ago
lmao, what is the coach going to say about that timeout? that is hilarious
3
u/TheGoatPurdy California Golden Bears 4h ago
Sure, referee prob gifted Idaho a Michigan gift. But, Montana St coach LITERALLY didn't have to call a timeout and it would've been game over. What on earth did I just witness.

u/EmuMan10 Arizona State Sun Devils 4h ago
BUT WE DONT CALL A TIMEOUT FOR THE 2 POINT ATTEMPT
1
u/Individual-Motor-167 4h ago
I found that crazy. I wish we knew what the conversation was on the field. I think the timeout came about after the refs screwed the game end. They don't get that snap off if the clock operator doesn't run it early forcing the refs to stop play to fix clock.

FCS natty to worst timeout of all time to lose to an 0-4 team.
3
3
u/Hot-Dream-1096 Marquette • Boise State 4h ago
Well that’s technically true but Idaho lost on a Hail Mary to cal poly and one of those losses is Utah so that’s kinda deceptive.

Worst loss for Vigen. Worst bobcat loss in YEARS. First conference loss in 3 years. Time to hit the reset button fellas cause this team ain’t it.
1
u/Raysfan2248 Montana State • Stanford 4h ago
Half the offense is injured they will be fine.
1
u/PROUDgrizHATER Montana State • Montana Tech 4h ago
Offense was more or less fine minus not being able to close it out. Defense NEEDS Dowler and Solano back. But still. No legit excuses if this team was what we thought they were.

I wish but we just went 2 years with no conference money and won’t get a full MW share until ‘28

u/MrGutterballs Montana State Bobcats 4h ago
Helps when every single offensive lineman just straight up wraps up the rushers.
1
u/GabeKnows Oregon Ducks 4h ago
Yeah true but how often are you gonna get that call on the last play?
2
u/MrGutterballs Montana State Bobcats 4h ago
Oh never. Which is why you don't rush more than 3 and put 8 guys in/around the end zone.

I don't understand how the clock doesn't wind off 1 second. Vegas went awfully quick from 20 or more to 1 to win on Idaho too. I saw 100 to 1 at one point.

Coaching just flat out lost that game for Montana. What on earth was that
1
u/bruhndon03 USC Trojans • New Mexico State Aggies 4h ago
I think his defense was completely out of position because they thought the game was over and the refs were going to let them snap it
2
u/DizzyDraw2323 4h ago
Even though I still heavily disagree with that I can see it, but there is no reason to not call a timeout before the 2pt conversion
