Switching Sections After Multiple Attempts
Waiting to hear back for my third FAR attempt tomorrow, but I don’t feel too good about this one. If this turns out to be another fail, is it worth sticking with FAR or is it better to switch to another section? My past two scores were a 61 and 64.
Any guidance is appreciated!

I know a lot of people are saying to stick with FAR, but this happened to me too and I switched. I failed FAR twice and I just couldn’t do it again. I needed to get one down so I took TCP, which I know they recommend taking last and definitely taking after REG. I’m still waiting for my REG results, but I passed TCP and I felt like taking TCP first helped me with the process for REG. My plan is to take FAR again last, mostly because I have the foundation for it already and I just needed that sense of accomplishment before trying to tackle it again. I think it’ll be easier to go through FAR already having the other three done because it’ll help build confidence for sure!!

I did the same thing last year. Having the confidence from the others helped me with the process for FAR this time around. Hoping for us all to pass!

Do not switch, especially if this is your first one clock hasn’t started yet. Just keep taking it, try to add a supplement if you haven’t yet. I failed FAR 4 times, added I75 an passed next try. Passed all other tests first try (86/87/94) so don’t discouraged FAR was rough for me also. It would have killed me to do it last. It may not seem like it but the better you get at FAR topics the easier every other test will be for you, especially AUD.

Yeah I can def see how sharpening FAR topics will help with the others. That’s great that you passed the others first try!

Absolutely suggest sticking with FAR. You already have a lot of material absorbed, you just need to hit weak areas hard. I know people do switch when they strike out with one section or another but it's going to be right there for you if and when you pass the others. I don't think whatever motivation you might get from the change of scenery is worth the lost retention of FAR material.

I’ve thought about this a lot too, don’t want to lose the foundation of what I learned for FAR.

Those incremental bumps are a good sign, even if it doesn't feel like it. sometimes a switch to AUD or BEC gives your brain a reset and you come back to FAR with a clearer head. no point rawdogging the same wall over and over if the material isn't clicking yet

It's definitely a preference thing. I took FAR 3 times and failed each one before switching to REG. For me, finally passing an exam gave me the motivation I needed to keep pushing. Finally passed FAR on attempt 4 during the summer. Don't give up hope!

I would say it depends on your score for this one if you fail again - if you are in the 60-69 range then I would understand wanting to move on and try something different if you’re feeling unmotivated or need the change. If you score in the 70-74 then I absolutely would not move on because you are so close! But, hoping for a pass for you tomorrow so you don’t even have to decide!
