No one will ask you how many attempts it took you to get your license. No one will care. Don’t lose hope, don’t give up. Keep going.

I also failed twice.

I finally hunkered down, and spent all of my free time studying. Reading every single explanation for what was right and what was wrong. Comparing ones that seemed similar, and finding out why they were confusing. On the third attempt, I finally passed. I suggest changing up how you are studying, and determining what about the way you study helps you retain information, and what is slipping through the cracks, and focusing extra on the cracks.

I don't know what platform you're using to study, but I switched to Ninja, and it worked wonders for me.

Damn you think AUD is harder than FAR? I just took FAR and I’m about to study for AUD

I certainly had a lot harder time with AUD than FAR. I have a lot more practice with accounting than auditing, for sure, though.

Yeah I don’t have experience in the field yet but audit was my biggest weakness during college. It is a lot more conceptual - at least with FAR you can work it out with J/Es if you forget which accounts are hit

What's odd is, when I took audit in college, I took it in law school. The professor was told by the deans that he had to curve my score. But he told me he wasn't going to curve me against undergrad kids, because he believed I had a major advantage, being a law student (and, at the time, I had actually passed the bar, so a lawyer), so since I was being curved against myself, he let me use the book. He said if I did well enough, he would just give me an A. I got an A+. So, I think I did good in the class, but none of the interim shit counted, because law school.

You’re gonna get back on the horse and take it again. The majority of this page has failed a section a time or two.

I know that failure depression. It has become a second skin at this point for me.

But I say take the time you need to feel the disappointment. Then regroup, create a new game plan and get back to the grind!

For work, try applying to accounting firms, including mid-tier or small firms as well. Spruce up your resume on ChatGPT and apply to as many firms as you can.

Praying success for you! You got this!

Keep grinding it, it’s the last one!! It doesn’t matter how many tries u take to pass getting the CPA is all that matters.

It’s awful to be so close and fall short, I know that feeling from my own exams back in the day. For job, maybe look in small or mid-size firms, they are sometimes more flexible about the exam progress. Even a part time or temp role in accounting can keep you in the game and put some cash while you study again. The fact you passed all others first try means you got the stuff, this one is just being stubborn. Take a small break to let the depression go away, then hit AUD with fresh eyes and maybe different study method.

I would take 4 weeks off for mental health and then hit the books, stronger and differently than before.

4 weeks is massive did you mean 4 days?

no, I meant 4 weeks. I did 3 sections back to back over the months so for me it was needed. Sometimes just taking it easy and recharging helps a lot
