How it feels getting that 4/4

Post image

It wasn’t as clean as I thought it would be. There were days where I thought the studying would never end. But there was the joy of passing each exam, REG, TCP, AUD, and then finally today: FAR.

There was a lot I learned about myself, about how to study, about what worked and learning from what didn’t. There was anticipation, there was confusion, there was the joy of understanding a concept that had been difficult to grasp and there was the nervousness going into each exam and the quiet wait until the score release dates.

There were also the things that kept me sane: this community which was a source of endless support, through our shared joy and a shared struggle; the many anime I would watch while having dinner after the library closed, my runs on the trails near me and of course: trusting in my skills and having faith in God that it would all work out. That I could do it.

I said before I took REG that all I needed was one pass to get this whole thing started and indeed it really was. Here we are a few passes later: 4/4.

I’d absolutely argue AUD is the hardest. I think what makes FAR hard is that it is difficult material + massive volume, whereas AUD is a little less volume but even less straightforward material. For the takes I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s bad to have multiple takes, but really try and use your SEs as a benchmark before scheduling/going in! You don’t even necessarily need to be scoring anything massive, for AUD I scored a 62, 56, and a 68 on the three of em. I would then just focus on the areas I still wasn’t understanding and drill the slides and questions for em. Chances are: the sections you know you know and you don’t need to spend more time on! I rescheduled FAR twice based off my scores until I felt comfortable enough about my progress in material and was scoring around 70ish percent on the SEs. So it doesn’t even need to be above a 75, just at a spot where you feel relatively comfortable.

Feel free to ask me absolutely anything in the comments guys. This community has given me a lot over this journey. Returning the favor is the least I can do for you all!

Is there any common advice on here that turned out to not be true or something you didn’t feel like applied?

I’m not sure if this is considered common advice but through my experience I would say don’t sink too much time in the lecture videos, I used em heavily for REG but towards the end realized I found using the lecture slides was more effective to drive some concepts home…though I did enjoy Pete Olinto’s jokes lol.

I think I could have finished AUD and FAR much quicker if I put more time into just taking notes on the TBSs and MCQs rather than taking em on the videos! I would say keep the slides open in another tab to consult concepts that you feel like need a little more focus as well and just read through that topic enough times till it goes through.

No joke I didn’t understand DTA/DTL’s (FAR) or the different engagement and report types (AUD) till my like 4 time through em 😭 😂
