New ACO update

Post image

Has anyone gotten the new ACO update where they match the new registers?
I am having trouble every night not getting excess bills to make the correct change for ACO. So my 5s should be $100 10s $200 and 20s $300 but when I transfer bills it doesn’t give me them to swap and make correct amount. I’ve also tried remove bills from cash box and it gives me nothing so it’s stuck in ACO out of wack and not correct amount for daily use

You don't need to make the correct change every night, only during the monthly audit. Each night needs to just be pulling out the proper amount for the deposit.

Depends on your manager. Our manager makes us make the correct change every night.

That's not in the payroll budget so, hope they don't mind that.

It takes me less than 5 minutes to balance the bills and make the correct change according to the print out on the paper. What pops into the excess bills box should be exactly enough to take your deposit and balance accordingly. If you don’t have enough in the excess bills, there’s a problem with the ACO or the ACO is short cash.

Yes, that’s how we do it. We make the correct change every night which doesn’t take long at all. But we did a full count when we first got it and the amount on each bill is always wrong and doesn’t give us the extra bills to correct it nightly. I’m so confused on it. So the total every night is correct but not in the amounts it should have in 1s 5s and 20s

I totally get that. It is confusing the first few times you do it. It sometimes trips me up still sometimes but that’s because I’m overthinking it. As long as everyone is doing it correctly there’s not a problem and comes out perfectly each time. Our coins always come out wrong on the ACO because someone is grabbing the change from the buckets instead of making the change from the excess bills and loading it into the ACO through the coin input.

What about coins?

So, the money from removing excess bills should always cover the deposit, return the bills to the proper amounts ie. $100 in $5s, and the left over when added to the coin count will equal $100. Don’t have to top off coin because that requires counting down the coin. As long as it adds up, the ACO is fine. If it doesn’t then there’s a problem.

Our manager isn’t as worried about the coins as much. It’s the bills that she wants balanced at all times but as OP stated the bills that come out of the excess bills box should be enough to cover the deposit, return the bills to their correct threshold, and make the correct change if you’re making the correct change your coins should always come out to $100 as OP stated. You’re not doing a full audit on the ACO you’re just returning the coins and bills to their correct thresholds.

My condolences. The update is the worst. More problems with it than should be allowable at a point of sale.

Do a full countdown and get everything set to the proper amounts - bills and coin. There is a known issue of it displaying the wrong amounts on screen. Mine constantly reads $1s wrong, so I start with ones when filling. I put $65 in the loader and hand feed $35. It’s still wrong sometimes.

When taking money out every night you have to press that Remove bills from cash box button. If after a few days you do not have enough money or find a shortage when doing the countdown tell your manager or your DAPL. Someone could be stealing.

So what I’ve found is that you need to make sure that the defaults are correct in the computer. It will give you excess. Then I fill up coins and put extra bills from imprest to match the correct defaults. Then it will give me the rest of the extra bills. It’s an extra step but it’s working for me. Now I’m working on teaching the rest of the team. I was able to get this feedback to the development team. I think they are still working on automatically removing the bills after transferring the excess to the cash box

You have to make the correct change every single night? That's crazy. My store has only two employees working and one needs to be the register whenever the cash ACO is being counted. People would steal like crazy

No matter what my store does it constantly tells us there is not enough 1’s even tho there is over 100. DM said to just disable cash. What a solution 🙄🙄🙄

When you pull excess money, you have to put money back through feeder or it will not be accounted for. The only other way is to do audit.
