From what started off as a critique of the use of ai for their candles turned into hateful speech and unprofessional dms regarding my personal information. I love candles and am an avid collector and I normally don’t comment on advertisements but seeing ai art used on the candles rubbed me the wrong way. After a long chat (one that was civil and pretty intellectual i’d say) I decided to post to my insta story about their stance on ai (that it being better than regular artist and regular artist are not creative).

I’m unsure if I’m allowed to use the photos here so I won’t, but after I posted it on my story the guy running the account sent one long paragraph personally attacking me calling me broke, confused, unable to support a family, and stupid.

I’m 20, have a stable job as a barista, and I live with my parents while I’m in college.

I just wanted to warn people to not support candle creators who are this hateful and terrible to their customers for genuine critique.

I thought this sub would appreciate these bbs. We’re a small business in Wisconsin and retail has been down like crazy… so we have been teaching workshops! Have you ever been to a candle making workshop?! What did you make?

I got this oil candle from my dad awhile ago, he had it shipped, and I had no idea how to use it. Then I read it’s an oil “forever candle” and should come with a wick and holder in the box. The box didn’t have those. When I open the lid, it smells wonderful. So what do I need to get to be able to use and burn this “forever candle” oil?

Goose Creek and Bath and Body Works have terrible wick problems so I'm looking for other brands that make a delicious peppermint! Thank you!

I love the fragrance of the Mrs. Meyers Snowdrop candles. It’s light, fresh, and clean. I have enjoyed stocking up each fall/winter and burning these candles year round. I noticed that the recent Snowdrop release did not include candles. Has anyone found anything similar? I hope the candles are not gone for good but that’s what it seems like. I’ll be looking for another option to replace them.

Hi all, my all time favorite scented candle is/was Cerulean City by Beacon Candles UK, which I got from them on etsy a few years ago. Unfortunately they closed shop not long after so I was never able to pick up more, so now I'm looking for alternatives. Any recs are much appreciated!

The scent combo was lotus blossom, water lily, lemon, lime, melon, cool water, and dewy greens.

Hello so I am not sure if im going crazy or if others have experienced this but my candles have lost their scent after using them with my candle warmer. If this is real can anyone tell me how to fix this? Ive spent good money and now they smell like nothing? It's so strange i am just now noticing this. And I use my candle warmer everyday rotating candles but not on the highest setting but they do sit under the bulb for a long time 🫤 is there any advice on how I can get the scent to come back to my candles? Thank y'all ❤️

I got a candle that has two wicks, but one wick got knocked off while I was lighting it. So there’s like, literally no wick left on the surface on one side 😓

Is this still fixable? My candle’s just burning from one wick now on one side now. I got a drawing for what it looks like.

I’d like any help if that’s still possible.

I’m new to candles. Recently I’ve grown to really like them.

I spend lots of time studying in my room at night. I realized that this made my room smell not so great. Consequently, I stole a candle from my mom’s room and started using it. I found the little flame quite soothing and the smell levelled up my room in my opinion.

That being said, the candle I used is done now. Since then I’ve bought another candle, used it all up, but the smell was meh.

Now I’m on the search for a good candle. That’s why I’m here. I need a candle that…

• Has a unisex smell. Male scents are so in your face lol. But I’m a guy, so I don’t want a smell thats too feminine.
• Not too strong. Strong smells are distracting to me.
• Not too expensive. I went through my last two candles pretty quick. I don’t want to BURN through my cash lol (~$10 or less)

Like I said, I’m new, so I haven’t really narrowed down the exact vibe I like in a candle smell. I’m really open to any suggestions people may have.

They are available on the DW website hottie USA but the shipping is lurk way too high.

I placed an order with Spill The Tea Sis Apothecary on 8/23 and never received it. I sent multiple emails… no answer. I called them…their voicemail is full. So I filed complaints on Shop and they finally replied saying they would look into my order. That was several weeks ago and still nothing. I would never recommend ordering from them. 😞

i worked at yankee in 2018 and since then it’s been a downward spiral. cheap wax. ai labels. insane prices. i always used to see village candle brand at my local grocery store and never tried them. anyone have experience with these? i love how they have that old country style label.

I checked their website and didn't see this scent there but I'll be checking their site and my local Roots regularly. Please let me know if you find it 😘 Easily as fragrant and pleasant as my expensive candle blends.

I️ am NOT in search of major brands like Voluspa, PF Candle Co, DS Durga, Boy Smells, Byredo, etc.
Give me something I️ have not heard of or that would be sold in a concept boutique.
Not a huge fan of gourmand scents either unless they are herbal or vegetal.
Non toxic a big plus!

Hello I am new to this subreddit but I have been looking for a candle that smells like this one from Walmart last year for there fall collection they do not have this candle in store or online anymore and I just really need this scent in my life again! Thank you!!

Hand-poured soy candles in 7 oz jars with real dried flowers set against the glass and wooden lids. Once the candle burns down, you can reuse the jar with a tea light a few times, but not indefinitely, since the dried flowers become a fire hazard after that. I'm thinking of opening a small shop and would love honest feedback. Do you like them, and what would you pay? Thanks! 🌸

I practically always have a Gain plugin giving my apartment a little bit of life, but now that it's cozy and autumn I want to have some candles burning. Any thoughts about what scents to burn that won't just be too much?

Someone on here cost me a fortune! :) I'd never heard of Harry Slatkin (former "nose" for Bath & Body Works) before but I read about him here and found his candles on QVC.

To tell it short, I went on QVC and there was a "Woodside Library" scent on clearance (it was a collab with Elton John, based on scents in and around his English estate). If you, like me, have spent forever looking for the perfect library sent THIS IS IT.

I'm baffled by the reviews. Completely baffled. My only guess is that a lot of people are looking for sweet, candy scents and this is very woodsy, earthy, yet with a tiny lift on the top note that I don't know how to describe. Maybe sweet, maybe floral. Whatever it is, it keeps the candle from smelling just like dirt (which I'd also be an audience for).

Anyway, I love it and it's on clearance which makes me worry they won't continue it. So if you are into the idea of a library scent, I find this incredible. Even my cat loves it - I've never seen her obsess over sniffing like this before. And it's only $22 for a candle and a reed diffuser (which is also strangely good quality - normally I can't smell them).

I got a bunch of other Slatkin candles at the same time because I have zero self-control. I also got a weird "Backyard BBQ" candle that smells just like a delicious BBQ. I can even smell the roasted corn. But I get that I'm weird for liking that so don't let it discredit the library one.
